My First Rock Chip

I got my first rock chip today, got a lot of miles in before it happened. Any way I was wondering if I should just use touch up on this little chip or go get something like Dr. Color Chip. What do you guys think? I tried to get a clear picture but this is the best I can do for now, I am going to try again tomorrow to get a better picture.

NOTE: This is zoomed in like 90%

OMG... Call Time magazine. A paint chip... stop the press!

It's going to happen, you don't need to tell us.

I have a 2 year old (as of yesterday) 2010 with so many chips I can't count them all and you know what... I don't care!

And before someone starts on the GM uses shitty paint train... I just got a 2012 Civic, black. It has about 1500 miles on it... Guess what, it has a few chips too ... I didn't call Honda freaking out, I didnt slam Honda online... I didnt do jack shit... because... It's a freakin car, they chip and scratch whoopee do.

Drive, wash, have fun! REPEAT

I think you should sell the car. It's obviously lost most of its value.

I think the purpose of the thread wasn't to tell us how devastated he was about getting a rock chip, but what his options were to "cover" it up.

Don't me... It isn't rocket science.

Touch up paint works wonders. Or have the whole car repainted every day when it gets a chip.

REAL ANSWER to OP's question

That chip is on the gills. Going to happen like crazy bc the shape of the car. So glad I got silver. Just keep after them with touchup and you'll be fine.

Rocks glide along the side and hit there. It's unavoidable. I'm not a fan but a lot of ppl have luck with the clear bra.

Also, touch that up before you wax it. You'll never see it, but like I said, if you drive the car, you're going to get a ton there.

someone (and I'm not sayin' names...) got double dipped in the sarcasm bucket today, hmm? That's a pretty good sized chip, no wonder you're bummed! Daub a little touch-up paint (autozone probably has something that will work) in there and move forward. It's going to get chipped, but damn, that's a big chip.

A lot of dick heads on here. The chips suck but they're gonna Happen. Go to the dealer and get some rally yellow touch up paint and put a small dab in there. If you have really small ones a tooth pic works well. No one sells rally yellow btw, I've only been able to to find it on eBay and the dealer.

Take some solace in the fact that the paint isn't weak just on the Camaro - It's weak on ALL cars made under the new EPA paint rules - Water based paint just isn't as durable as urathane finishes. Keep up with the chips with spot repairs for the time being, and in a few years, take the car to a good body shop with a guy who knows how to do a great paint job - get it re-painted with a urathane paint and clear coat, (which can be done as long as the shop follows all the regulations) From that point it will probably rarely chip, like most older cars.
