Anemic Acceleration - Transmission?

I have a convertible with the V6 manual 6sp. trans. and I sure could benefit from some educated input, please.

When accelerating and shifting from 2nd into 3rd and sometimes from 3rd into 4th gear, I'm really not getting any "oomph" out of engine / acceleration. The engine doesn't appear to "hesitate" but it's like it doesn't have the same kick as 1st and 2nd do (1st and 2nd, 5th & 6th accelerate GREAT and all gears shift smoothly). Frankly, it feels "anemic".

I've been keeping an eye on the rpm's (via the HUD) during shifting and they don't appear to drop significantly when depressing the clutch (rpms around 3k). I've also tried easing down on the accelerator rather than normally accelerating but it doesn't seem to help either.

I figure for 312 horses, I should be getting a bit more bang for my buck when I accelerate. I've been driving manual trannys for the past 24 years, so not new to up shifting and down shifting when needed but I feel as though I have to get the rpm's up (3k +) for it to really provide more kick - even then, it's still somewhat lacking.

I took it into service on Friday (200 miles on the odo) and they didn't find anything wrong with it. Trust me, I know that it should have more kick than it's giving me. Is this considered "normal performance" for the manual 6sp? It feels as though I'm driving my Accord 4 banger.

Can anyone please provide me with some input on this?

I had a 2LT with a stick as well. It's a V6. It's not gonna thrust your head back in 3rd to 4th when it's all stock.

But, I will say, the motor sure comes alive over 3500 RPM's so tach her up nicely and enjoy yourself. The way the car is geared you get the real fun at high RPM's especially!
