Airaid CAI that uses OEM air scoop
Does this design offer any benefit over all the other CAIs, even the others by Airaid that don't use it?

The OEM scoop is in front of the radiator. What you're referring to is the funnel from the scoop to the airbox. None of the other CAI's with a shield use the funnel since it isn't necessary. Their shields encompass the entire area in the corner so they get air from not only the OEM scoop but from underneath as well.

That air scoop is not getting much b/c its not open where it leads. The Airaid pulls hot air as well, find a better CAI,IMO

The board favorites seem to be Cold Air Inductions, Roto-Fab and there are some big Vararam fans as well. Look into them first. We carry a ton of options at some pretty awesome pricing!

The airaid is top notch in quality, but I wasn't so convinced with the use of the oem scoop. Up till u see it for ur self u never notice the issue. On the oem filter the scoop is a good way inside the fender but when using the same on the airaid kit it is only half way through. This means on a gud pull u wld be drawing hot air from the engine bay itself. This in turn results in a noticeable drop in power. When I closed the scoop area with sponge the issue went away. Anyways the guys at LMS were kind enough to swap the kit with a CAI kit the very next day itself. The CAI kit is much better thermally insulated and the sound it makes is also nice. U will start hearing the supercharger whine as soon as u go anywhere near the gas pedal. On the airaid u had to nail it and the sound becomes prominent only after like 5 rpm. . Anyways I'm happy with the CAI kit... Cheers... |
