I am in a camaro club here on long island ny. With all kinds of hot looking camaros. When I go to shows and meet up spots with the club I have seen and heard people say why did the make the LS it's a poor mans camaro. It's for people who had to have a camaro and not care what it looked like on the inside. This is coming from people that are NOT IN THE CLUB. It's the Judges and the Spector’s them selfs. what would you say to the haters out there if you heard this.

I have an 2012 LS... People's response have been good. I don't understand the whole "It's for people who had to have a camaro and not care what it looked like on the inside" thing. It looks better than 2011 1SS interior my father has, but that's mostly because of the revised interior for the 2012 year. Seats are only slightly different unless you get the leather. Plus I got the Premium floor mats from the dealership as part of my purchase deal, so it looks really good.

Change out the steel wheels and the 2012ls is hard to tell apart from a 1lt or even and 1ss for non camaro people.

New wheels/tires is what I plan do later this year (hopefully). Going to get my intake/exhaust first. But yes, I agree. The 2012 LS can pass for a de-badged 1SS if you don't pop the hood and have the right wheels.

because you saved money to mod the hell out of it !That's why i bought the Ls instead of the 1 or 2 Lt's

I like my 1LS. No, that isn't correct, I LOVE my Camaro. Have put 1LT wheels and a convertible rear spoiler on it, as well as the old cross flags emblem on the fenders.

I have a question and i dont its not the right thread for it but was curious. what does L99 or LS3 mean on the camaros? i have seen alot of people saying they have L99 and LS3 but i never understood it. can anyone help thanks.

They are the RPO/option codes for the two V8 engines. The L99 V8 comes in the auto, the LS3 comes in the manual cars. The V6 is the LLT or the LFX, depending on they year. Both are the 3.6L.

To the OP -- who gives a flying f*** whether it's an LS, LT, RS, SS, Z28 or otherwise. It's a Camaro and that's what counts.

Tell them you are a car person and like nice cars. Then tell them not all folks are car people.

Then ask them what they are driving and smile when they say something other than a camaro.

I have the V-8 version of the LT. I have a 1SS. Money was not the factor, PLEATHER interior was. I hate it! My 1998 Z-28 had the Chevy "leather appointed seats", never again. Tell them to FICK off.
