He may of let it set to long. If you don't pull the tape of while its still wet it will mess up.

It's an aerosol spray that is a rubberized coating. If applied evenly and tape removed when still wet it places a rubberized coating over the paint. Easily removable when dry by peeling.... sometimes it's a little hard to remove in certain places. No one has reported it damaging the paint, and many have had successful mods with it. More here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147795 Thanks to Stieger...

FYI, don't try to remove this stuff in the cold. Heat it up with a heat gun first then start pealing, and it will come off in clean strips.

I'm not sure what happened to yours but the stuff peels off easily by hand. It takes a little more work when its cold out. If you have little spots of over spray that easily comes off with clay barring. If you can start to peel an edge off, you can gently pull it up at an angle and peel off large sheets of the stuff.
