ZL1 VIN discussion - 2G1FS1EP3C9800004
We previously discussed whether or not the ZL1's would have a specific VIN sequence. Since this is the first week of production, my VIN appears to indicate that this is the 4th ZL1 manufactured. Compared with existing 5th gen Camaro VIN's, does the VIN sequence appear to vary from existing Camaros?

FBodfather has stated that they are going to have their own sequencing. The VIN which you have provided proves this as all other camaros have the number "1" in the position which you have the number "8". This is unusual as most models simply continue with the existing sequencing as was done with the SS, LT and 'verts.
Congrats if that's your VIN! Pretty cool!!!!

The VIN was provided at gmconnects.com when my order reached 4104. When I entered the order number and status code of 4104 appeared, the VIN was just shown there with the status code. I didn't do anything special. How can I post a screen shot?

copy and paste
while looking at GM connect press the prt sc--(print screen key) above backspace then open paint. Paste it to piant and save. name it what ever you want...

The first ZL1's are bound to be bayed, inspected and re-inspected before "leaving the property." Chevrolet would probably like to avoid any negative press and in this day of instant public relations such as Camaro5.com, they must get it right the first time. I'm confident that will be the case. But baby, come to papa soon!!
Ode to ZL1 - I have the garage all setup for you which includes a lift, numerous Camaro 5th gen framed posters, custom metal signs that are painted and hung (including a bowtie with "ZL1" on top) and all of your Camaro older brothers - SS, Z28's and IROC look forward to meeting you. We'll tweak you a little bit, break you in then watch you get after those mustangs. Can you tell I'm a proud father? Heck, I need a ZL1 stork sign in the front yard of the shop!!

CONGRATS........
YEP, They are going to keep them in the incubator as close to their birth FATHER (fbodfather that is) until they are ready to travel "home". By baby went back to 8 cm dilation this morning (3300) and almost ready to enter the muscle car era! Very EXCITING for sure! |
