Got a ticket while parked

I woke up this morning to my father telling me i got a ticket. And i thought they got me running a red light or something but then he tells me that some city person i think was walking the block giving tickets for everything. Anyways i got a ticket for no front plate at 7 in the morning parked right in front of my house. luckily my GF had work and my mom is parked in the driveway or else they would have got tickets too. It is $93 or $10 with a officer write up.

If you have a driveway park there. They cant ticket you for that if you aren't on a public street.

Do you park on the street patrolled by meter maids? Or was it a cop that ticketed you?

I never park anywhere with meters or in city areas patrolled by meter maids because those vultures will always get you for no front plate or anything they can. I hate those b@stards! How anyone could have that job and live with themselves is beyond me.

Did the ticket indicate your address? I would think that since your vehicle was parked and not being "operated” at the time that the vehicle code would not be enforceable. I mean you were not driving it. Theoretically you could have taken the plate off to wash mud off of it or whatever. Super weird.

Hope you are able to get out of it. Keep us updated.

Every state is different on what is enforceable on parked cars.

And you know full well that you need a front plate in your state, so don't complain that you got a ticket for it.

That's not true. When your vehicle is parked on a city street it needs to be in full legality as far as registration, insurance, tags, etc.

I was parked on the street a couple years ago sitting in my car. Cop drove by, flipped a u turn and hit the lights. Told me I needed a front plate. No ticket though. I got lucky.

Also, I believe some types of what we would think are "parking" violations,
such as in a red zone, or school bus zone, are actually considered "moving" violations... could be wrong...

I agree...If no LEO bashing is allowed, what the hell do they "moderate"...I don't get it.
