How much time will we be required to work the corners if we are a driver. I am cool with it, but need to know so I can plan time around events and family?
Should I bring my windshield washer fluid for the other cars while I am working the corners? Will they tip?

3, 4 August........ Autocross will have AM session and PM session both days. I don't know about the drag lanes, but should be similar.

So another words if you are planning to do both Auto-x and drag racing youll need a Snell Rated SA2005/2010 correct? Because the rating is good for both events.
So something like this should be fine for both events corrsect? Disregard the helmet size ![]() http://www.jegs.com/i/G-FORCE/471/3021LRGBK/10002/-1

How U Doin?

I don't have a sticker inside my helmet but I do have a Snell M2005 certified sticker on the outside of my helmet. It's a full faced motorcycle helmet. I'm assuming it will be fine because I've used it before, but wasn't sure if they'd give me grief since nothing is affixed inside the helmet.

Okay, now I am totally confused. :( I thought I had it, now,................well, not so much. I am resigned to buying a helmet. But some of the OP is over my head. So let's start with this:
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING Full-length pants; short- or long-sleeved shirt; closed shoes; and socks. No shorts. No tank tops. No open-toe or open-heel shoes or sandals. Synthetic clothing not recommended. Jacket and pants meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/1 mandatory in AA/S through M/S, AA/SA through M/SA, and in any vehicle running 11.49 or quicker. SFI Spec 3.3/1 gloves mandatory in any vehicle running 9.99 or quicker. See General Regulations 10:10. translation please. Do I just need to borrow my nephew's racing suit to be safe. Do we have to dress like that in the corner work? If so I will roast. At least with the suit I could just take it off & have shorts underneath if it is permitted.

Okay but, uh I'm not a guy. I can't just change clothes anywhere. Okay, I was in Band in high school & learned some pretty creative clothes changing skills but, I don't want to try to put shorts on under jeans. That's why I say it might just be easier to wear the race suit with shorts & tank top under it, then I can just take it off.

There are several "large" restrooms all around the track to use for changing. You are not stuck to changing clothes in the Blue Port-a-stink-pots.

Ruby, have you had your car to a track to see what times it will run? My guess if it is a stock V6 you will be safe with a pair of blue jeans, normal pair of shoes, a normal long sleeved shirt and a helmet. "Most" track will not say too much if your car runs in the 14 second and slower range and really don't get "too" picky as long as you have a helmet and are running in the 13 second range. They will get after you to wear the "tech" clothing and everything else if your car is running 11.49 and quicker but I really don't think that this will count for you. Hope this helps you out a little. Come and have fun!!!!

The autocross is purely being run by volunteers. We need help with corners, tech, timing, etc etc. During your driving session you will drive, work cones, drive, help with timing, drive, work corner.
Check out the AutoX thread. I know this helmet thing is kicking everyone's a$$. AutoCross requires the SA 2005 2010 helmet, which has been established.

Okay I'll think on it. Most gym type pants these days are however at least in part synthetic (so they will stretch) but then so are most jeans.

Does this mean all supercharged cars, excluding the ZL1, regardless of E.T.,the driver, must wear a jacket? Any one have links on these jackets? |
