Hmmm… where do I start ???

Back in April 2010, I was thinking of buying a new car. I was looking around at different cars.. import cars… american cars .. I admit, I even looked at the mustang and challenger. But I fell in love with the CAMARO.

At that time, financially I couldn’t get one right away because I still got 2 years more on my current car. Not even trading my current car would allow me to get a new one. So I made a budget and worked overtime so I can saved up and have a budget for down payment and other fees and also get a low monthly payment.

By June 2011, I reached my budget. Right in time for my birthday. So I went around the local dealerships and test-drove the camaro. At first I just wanted the V6 and have it as my daily driver. But after talking to some friends and reading and trolling on Camaro5.com and NY5THGEN.COM, I decided I would get an SS and keep my hoopty civic as my daily driver.

So finally I was at the dealership ready to order my car. They couldn’t find the exact match of the car I wanted, a 2011 2SS Summit white with sunroof, nothing else. Even if they have to get it from other dealers, they just couldn’t find it. So, I decided to just factory order it. I knew at that time that It was the last week of production of the 2011 MY. But the dealer said I could still order it. The next day, I asked my dealer for my ORDER NUMBER, so I could track its production. When I looked at my order at GMCONNECTS.COM, I noticed there were extra features that I didn’t order. I realized that the dealer ordered a 2012 instead. At first I was hesitant because I didn’t want to pay the extra $$$ for the 2012. I called the dealer and they told me they are going to honor the price quote they gave me for the 2011. So the next day I went back to the dealership and asked for a written statement.

My car was ordered on June 7th, 2011. Production started on July 18th and finished on July 20th. It was on QC for 3 weeks. Got delivered on August 12th, 2011.

And I paid a 2011 price for my 2012 CAMARO 2SS/RS!!! That’s $1500 under invoice !!! (I looked at the price sheet that was released and posted here sometime ago)

And the rest is history…

Killer build dude! Love the entire car. I wouldn't have gone so large on the rear wing spoiler but everything else looks awesome! Love the custom paint on the interior trim. Should be a COTW nomination I would think.

Ahhh yes, I remember you were an inch away from getting a V6 last year. As I recall you saying, "It's going to be my daily driver so it'll save me a lot of money on gas." Hahaha, oh how times have changed. Aren't you glad you test drove that V8?

Not that there's anything wrong with a V6, but definitely these cars are IMHO most enjoyable with the bigger engine.

The last time I saw the Storm Trooper it was a completely un-modded virgin. Now it looks completely wicked!!! I always thought the interior would come out looking amazing and unique and it did. I also take back what I said about the vertical doors! It looks kickass on the Storm Trooper! Overall a very sweet ride.

Glad you're enjoying the car man! Spring is coming around! Time to put the battery back in and ride!!!
