Camaro April 2012 Deliveries (actual sales): 9,627

April 2011 Production Stats:

Camaro Produced in April 2012: 9,444

Compared to Competition:

Mustang sold 7,801 units in April 2012
Challenger sold 4,102 units in April 2012

If they'd put a manual transmission and drive shaft that's worth a crap, add 40k to the factory warranty I bet that number would close up for the Mustang a bit. I guess they can't do either and would rather focus on "brand recognition"

You will see more Mustangs on the road because they started building the current New... Old style Mustangs in 2005 and Challengers a few years later. So both have been built many years longer then the New Camaro's.

I live in the Northern California Wine Country North of San Francisco and there are lots of New Camaro's here!!

Challengers, I don't know maybe more mopar nuts in your area. Mustangs, well they never stopped building them ,and they were the only game in town for a long time.

Ford posted a loss also. GM fell 8%, Ford fell 5%, according to Autoweek.

Instead they try to talk you into an automatic. When I looked at a Mustang the sales manager really pushed the idea that everyone who buys a manual wishes they bought an automatic. I do hope they keep building all 3 cars, although I don't know how Chrysler can justify it with the Challenger sales figures like that. Maybe they really will replace it with a Barracuda.

By my understanding a bunch of Mustang sales are Fleet sales lately, and Ford is doing that on purpose.

Chrysler is fine, remeber there basicaly selling 3 versions of the exact same car. The 300, Charger and Challenger are the same.

Honda posted a loss as well.

That being said, it is important to note that there were FEWER selling days this April than last April. Those few days make a big difference. When you factor that in with the DSRs for all automakers, everyone's sales were actually up.
