So AAC has instructions, but as usual, I found them confusing and honestly not that helpful.
Here are some better instructions if you're interested in making this mod Note: Your brake lights still work! They are high intensity, this gets rid of parking brake lights (low intensity). 1) first you take off the black plastic thing to get to the tail light bulb assembly. 3 push pins per side. 2) And then you twist the bulb out of the lens. Twist and then pull will allow it to come out. 3) Once you have the bulb assembly out of the lens, you grab the bottom of the bulb and pull it out. It is only held in by two metal clamp things, and it is very easy to just pull out. 4) Once you pull it out, look at the black plastic that is connected to the bulb. On the black plastic you will notice 4 metal wires. 5) Two of the wires are facing the outside, while two wires are facing the inside. With your finger pry up the two that are facing INSIDE and cut them. 6) Reinsert bulb to make sure that low intensity no longer lights up, but high intensity (pressing on the brake pedal) does! 7) Redo for three other bulbs and you're done! Took me about 25-30 minutes, and it was pretty easy ![]() Note: After cutting the two metal wires, don't push them back down against the plastic. I did that and that allowed for contact, which then allowed for the low intensity to light up. Just let them stick up and you should be fine ![]() Before Side-by-Side Comparison: Finished all four: Note that the top bright line on the brake lens is just the reflector on the lens. No way to take the picture without that lighting up. Hope this helps someone
