2010 Camaro PEDDERS EXTREME XA COIL OVERS ON HENNESSEY CAMARO!

Also featured on homepage.

Pedders Xa on Hennessey Camaros

This is actually the third set of Pedders eXtreme Xa Coil Overs we have installed on the new Camaro, but it is the first set that we could take pictures of and play a little.

To start, here are pictures of the Hennessey Performance Camaro at stock height:

OE REAR

OE FRONT

Pictures of the Camaro after our Pedders eXtreme Xa Coil Overs installed:

FIRST SETTINGS

SETTING #2

.[/CENTER]

Some info about this Camaro:

Wheels are custom made by HRE, are are fairly light weight and beautiful

Tires are Pirelli Pzeros

Fronts are 275/40ZR20
Rears are 315/35ZR20

OEM ride heights were:
Front 680-682mm
Rears were 693-695mm
Please note the ride heights are measured from the lower wheel lip, thru center, to the fender opening. This is how we do it, which removes any tire influence.

The heights of the Camaro in the picture are:
SETTING #1 for VERY VERY serious driving
front: 646mm
rear: 635mm

SETTING #2 FOR VERY serious driving
front: 646mm
rear: 658mm

It looks like our coil overs have the ability to lower the fronts approx 2 inches and the rears approximately 3 inches. HOWEVER, this does not mean you will want to lower it that much. To put it into perspective, the front Xas are adjusted so the fender is between 5-10mm higher than the tread. This is a really sweet spot for this Camaro and the 275s in the front.

A special note to all: Running these size wheels and tires requires very close fitment and offsets. So working with the wheel manufacturers is important. I do not have permission to discuss the wheel offsets or sizes (I did not ask but I will)

Now some more info on the Hennesseey Camaro

Engine Upgrade: Picture tells it all!

Custom Seats

Custom Boost Gauge

My thanks go to all the members of the Hennessey Performance family for the support and assistance. You will see this Hennessey Camaro in a major magazine review soon!

thanks

SWEET! 315?! The biggest I ran on my '02 were 335s, but these still look great. Looking at a couple picks, they might fit, but rub :( Still, I like what I see a LOT! More pics' please and offset info' when that becomes available What is ground clearance like with these settings?

Looks like worms better duck when you drive by!

With the car lowered #2 position with the fat meats, did you have clearance issues? I would assume no, but you didn't really say. Did you drive it hard to see if there were rubbing problems?

Looks VERY nice lowered!

there were several questions and I will try and answer them.

1. Ground clearance. Had no issues with normal driveways and parking lot speed bumps. Had to use some extra ramps to get on the align rack, but that is pretty normal for a lot of vehicles. I was able to get a floor jack under the body. I have done some cars I that you had to drive on wooden blocks first.

2. Before the alignment, the cambers were in the -1.5 to -1.9 range on all 4 wheels. I had them go to -1.0 each wheel.

3. I was told this Camaro will be "aggressively tested" but still needed comfort. So I set the front dampers at 17 clicks and the rear at 15. This is the upper end of serious street driving. Road race settings are in the 21-25 range.

thanks

Mike I heard a rumor that you can fit 335's in the rear of the camaro on a 12" wide rim.

Can you verify this? and do you have a preference for 315 or 335?

Thanks

Mike and Pedders have been great to work with. I drove the car a few hundred miles today and the ride quality and handling are a night and day difference over stock. We should have some more pics in a few days and we will post them when we do.

This car will be at Cars & Coffee in Irvine, CA on Saturday morning. Come check it out if you are in Socal.

Lets just say that I have seen "a car" with 335s, but do not know if mods were done to get it to work.

Now based on this Camaro, I was told the fenders and such were roled, and if they did, they did a "perfect job" of it because I could not tell. Also the wheels are seriously outstanding. For their size they are light weight. HRE makes a off the chart quality wheel. Kudos to John H for choosing a wheel that not only looks good, but is functionally outstanding!. With it strength and light weight, this will seriously reduce unsprung weight. If I remember correctly, 2 pounds of unsprung weight equals 1 hp.

I think the 315s might be the largest you can get in there.

My very first brand new, ordered it from the factory, was a flame orange SS El Camino with a cowl induction hood, 4 speed, with black racing stripes. Seeing this awesome orange metallic Camaro, sent shivers of excitement and great memories of that car and my experiences owning it.
