Thumbs up VIDEO: 2010 Camaro vs. 68 Camaro / Mustang GT 500 / '72 Chevelle drag races

As featured on homepage.

This is a drag race on bridge between a 2010 Camaro and 1968 Camaro, both with the same exact options packages (both are SS / RS). The 1968 convertible Camaro is not stock however. It has a 406 cubic inch V8 with 5-sped manual and 3.73:1 posi rear end. The 2010 Camaro is stock.

Other videos:

Against 72 Chevelle big block

Against GT 500

Even with the beefed up motor, and much lower weight, the
new SS prevails over the old SS. All hail to the chief.!!

Kinda looks like Lake Shasta or Whiskeytown up by Redding but I haven't been there in at least 9 years. Waiting for video to load since it's kinda slow here. Should be cool. Can't wait to repower my 68 with an LS3 or better. I really enjoy the new engines GM is making these days. Not that the old ones were bad but these have power, fuel economy, reduced emissions...what more could we want. So sad to see GM wherethey're at but I can't blame them entirely. We wanted hot rods for the most part and they delivered while still meeting EPA guidlines. I just think that's some pretty good engineering right there. Keep the faith GM folks. It'll be hard at times but our cars and trucks still have lots of miles left in them.

Great videos and I agree I would of liked to see the finish line view but anyway it was nice to see the new Camaro SS hold its own right out of the factory against bigger engines in the the other cars

Nah, didn't look like he spun it at all actually... was a good launch. But you cant compare a supercharged 5.4L with 500hp to a 6.2L 426HP N/A new engine. But thank you to whoever posted these videos because that's the first races i have seen with the new camaro, cant wait to get mine and bring on the mods

Btw, the GT500 won the race against the new camaro which really wasn't a surprise to me... however it was a surprise that the camaro couldn't have been more then a car length behind.

Yeah, but then he revved the piss out of the GT in the higher gears and put the car into it's sweet spot. Camaro looks to have some MAD low end power.. now to clean up that top end..
