I can't fight this feeling anymore...

I've been trying talk myself out of the feeling that I have to have this car but I just can't do it.

I'm going to talk to the dealer after work tonight (he is selling at MSRP but wants a $2K non-refundable deposit).

If all goes well I'll be ordering a Black/Black 2LT with the polished wheels and manual tranny.

He is saying expected delivery would be July/August - I won't hold my breath though.

Its been 12 years since I traded-in my last Camaro. Its been a long time coming to get back in the Camaro driver's seat.

For $2k non-refundable, make sure you get that MSRP in writing with multiple signatures and guarantees of no new costs tacked on at delivery. If he wants a firm commitment from you, he should give you one in return.

I plan on it. I've been burned by this before (and he knows it) in 94 when I ordered a Z28 from a different dealer.

I would absolutely not recommend plunking down a $2k NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. These cars are already starting to show up on dealers lots. You will be able to find one in your trim level on a lot way before your ordered car comes in. And the dummies that are willing to pay over MSRP are dieing off.
Just take a look at car.com and see how many Camaro's are sitting on dealers lots by use and call around and ask what they are asking for the. I bet at least one is willing to sell at MSRP, but it most likely won't be your desired trim package.
You planning on trading in a car, just another reason not to do it. Think about it, you already agree to buy the car (you have a signed sales order), so why would they not totally screw you over on the trade? You can NOT back out of the sales order unless you want to loose your $2k.

Just a bad idea. Just wait around for you to find one on a lot, and save the agrevation of ordering.

I pre-ordered in Jan. and have a non-refundable deposit. I am 7 of 9 at my dealer, and will be waiting till later this year to get my car. I already know that there are two cars sitting on dealers lots in my color/trim combination within 100miles of me. But I can't/won't afford to just give up my deposit, so I wait...
