About 30 years ago my father bought a '68 white on white convertible. His 1st Camaro. It was his & my favourite car. He sold it a couple of years after cause some guy offered him stupid cash. He so regretted it. Then the C5 came out. He loved it! I'm sure he wanted to get one, instead he got diagnosed with lung cancer. When he was so weak and could move to much, he asked me to get him a C5 model camaro. It was the last thing he ever made (he was a carpenter). I wanted to get him a real one, but I could not afford it (not even a GOOD used one). He gave me that model the day before he passed. Last month, my wonderful wife found a 2010 SS on the Internet. It was SIM as the model. We had investments that cashed in, and she told me to go get it . It was mint shape, 13,000kms (8400miles I believe). It has blue stripes that I will remove as my fathers was black.

So here's some pics and my 1st camaro!

Great story, im glad you can finnaly feel the way he did, money talks when it comes to cars, i have extreme connection with my car as well, since my father passed away the day i got it, i was going to pick him up then go to the dealership.. well it did not work out that way, but i did get his 1970 camaro passed down to me... but if someone offered me "Stupid Cash" i would take it, otherwise my father would come down and slap me in the face.. haha

Great story. May pops rest in peace and you enjoy your SS in his memory whenever you can!

I still see the factory exhaust on it which may increase the probability that it was not "run hard".

Thanks all. The guy I bought it from stored it basically. He was a awesome guy. I had no problem paying him full price as its in prestige condition, but when he asked why I wanted one, he took $2000 off.

I'm so pumped about mod'in. Got a few things already. Haven't even driven it as winter here. I hope that I'll be able to get a '68 at some point too. Better pay off the house 1st.
