My Brand New 2014 Camaro is Flawed :( What to do from here..

I bought a brand new 2014 Camaro 10 days ago, and before we even drove it off the lot we did a full final inspection on the car, which at that time we noticed a ugly scuff mark about the size of a half dollar staring the passenger right in the face. The dealer told us that we could bring the car back so they could "take care of it", which we did last Monday. They had my car FOUR days when they finally said it was done, at which time we went to get it and it looked the exact same as it did when we dropped it off. Needless to say, we weren't very happy, and they have now told us that they were getting a "special product" directly from GM to fix it, and we're to bring it back next Monday. I can tell you that from looking at the scuff mark, which is in the soft black vinyl pad isn't gonna come off with any kind of cleaning. The service rep told my wife that if this product doesn't work, GM won't authorize the dealer to replace the pad. What ?!?!
Let's fast forward to next week when I go back to pick up my 2014 Camaro and the dash still looks horrible... What can I do from that point ? Any suggestions would be VERY HELPFUL. Thank you

Start the treck to find the shop that makes the part? And contact them directly? I work for a place that makes a component for that car, if someone where to contact me about a simple pice like that I'd just hook them up. Just a thought...

Contact GM customer service

I would contact GM customer service. The dealer sounds like he may be trying to pat you on the head and send you away. I would think this would fall under your bumper to bumper protection. Did you get a due bill at the time of purchase, if you noticed it before you drove off the lot they are obligated to fix it? If not they should still fix it if they are reputable. I bought my car at night and couldn't see any flaws but made the dealer agree in writing to allow me to review the car before I signed anything. He didn't want to agree so I left the car with them overnight and went back the next morning looked over the car found a couple flaws made them include a due bill for the items then signed the paperwork. They gave me an Enterprise rental car for the 4 days it took to do the work. They had a couple paint spots to fix and the front fascia was dented and had to be replaced. Sure glad I did this, the dealer said I couldn't drive my trade in back home because the paperwork had been made out recording the mileage. They offered me no ride home so I told him he could keep his car and I would look elsewhere for a car, suddenly a car came available and I went home. Never leave a lot until you inspect your car from bumper to bumper and if there is a problem make sure you get a due bill. It is amazing what they will do when they realize you are walking away. Always tell your friends about your experience and tell the dealer you will be telling them, they hate that. They know you won't be back and word of mouth is a powerful tool.

OK... Just to be clear, it's on the Passenger's side - vinyl grained long soft panel just above the glove box, that runs from the radio panel to the far rightside of the dash, and just below the stitching in the dash Pad.... The location of the scuff is directly above the center of the glove box.

I would get in touch with GM before taking the car back to any dealer. If they had your car 4 days and did nothing I would not be real quick to return to them, they might make things worse. There are usually GM customer service people monitoring this site, they will hopefully see your thread.

I didn't get a "Due Bill" before I left the lot, but there were about 4 people that worked there aware of the proble, including the salesman, and Her Manager. They have also aknowledged it in the paperwork that followed when we brought it in for the repair last Monday. I would also like to know if anyone knows if that's a panel that can be replaced, or is that piece actually molded to the metal frame of the dash. If that's the case, there's a very big can of worms that will get opened up when they finally realize that it's not coming off with some fancy cleaner..

If you noticed it while inspecting the car "before purchase", you should have moved on to another car or dealership. I wouldnt have chose that particular car,It seems like to many people are having problems with dealerships fixing pre existing problems on brand new vehicles

You don't need a "We Owe" or "Due Bill" for a new car. If the dealer won't replace the pad, escalate the issue through a GM service rep. Why dealers pull this shit is beyond me.

Okay, I've heard so many negative stories about the 2013-2014 Camaros and even worse - that the dealers are seriously dropping the ball when they are clearly obligated to make it right. This story is a good example. I'm in no way inclined to upgrade my Camaro anymore.

Also, there's a Ford Dealership in my area that I absolutely trust. I've bought two trucks from them in the past. I didn't buy a Mustang because I didn't like the way they looked. I love my Camaro and bought it used from a really great Nissan used car dealership (But I don't care for Nissan's at all). Next year I am going to be buying a truck (I'll keep the Camaro of course) and I'm now leaning heavily toward the F-150 instead of the Sierra, based on the issues I've read about Chevy dealerships and their horrible customer service.
