Stay away from car-speaker-adapters.com

I ordered a set of front speaker adapters for my 2012 1LT. I payed with paypal, the money was withdrawn, but I didn't get an order confirmation email or any communications. After a week went by I followed up with emails and phone calls and got no response so I opened a case with paypal and after the required 10 days they refunded my money. There seems to be a few similar, (no returned emails/phone calls), stories on the web so it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. Buyer beware!!!!!

This is from a Toyota forum from last January........

www.car-speaker-adapter.com is this legit?
I recently purchased a set of speaker adapters for my car and have been trying to contact the seller through e-mail and phone and no response...
Is www.car-speaker-adapter.com a scam or is this for real? If it is not a scam what was he average wait you guys that bought from this site had to wait to get them in the mail?

And a reply:

Well here is the deal with this company...
I placed an order for my speaker adapters a week before Christmas. About a week goes by and I still have no order conformation or tracking number after my money was already taken out of my bank account. I called and e-mailed for 3-4 days before this guy finally picked up his phone. He apologized and promised me that he would send my shipment out that day (Wednesday) and I would receive them that Friday. Well I didn't receive them on Friday or Saturday. Instead of sending them to Ny the tracking number told me they were going to Texas. So I went to lowes and made my own brackets. I notified my local post office to refuse the package and send it back and they did. The post master notified me that they were received by the original shipper and I have been trying to contact him for a full refund for about two weeks now. He doesn't answer his phone or return phone calls/emails.
With my experience I wouldn't recommend this guy. It's your call though.

Anyone used Car-Speaker-Adapters.com recently?

Was looking for adapters that were weather resistant, ordered 2 sets on June 7th. Received an automated confirmation email along with a follow up personallized email asking what vehicle they were going in though I believe that was also a stamped email.

Yesterday I still have no product, request (email) tracking number (no reply). I call his (412) number listed in email and website to find "The mailbox you are calling is full". Today I do a bit of research (Google) and find some really strange stuff. The email correspondence I had is signed by a Michael McGinnis.

Found a Linked-In by a young looking man by the same name claiming to own the website; https://www.linkedin.com/pub/michael...nis/85/942/a08

Then I find that Michael McGinnis (22) from Pittsburgh was arrested in a "suspected DUI accident" that killed one passenger by the same name (age 44) and another seriously injured the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Another Michael McGinnis (22) (Sorta looks like the linked in and same age as the one arrested over the holidays) was booked in jail on May 30th, 2015. http://countyjail.com/criminal-recor...innis-11289444

Ppl get in trouble and I get that, but business is business and I need product. Fortunately AMEX is like the mafia, so I'll have no trouble getting a refund or shopping elsewhere. Just curious if anyone else had ordered anything from them this month (or recently) and actually received product...and to warn others with my experience.

I haven't searched for weather resistant adapters yet, if you know any then that would also be helpful. EDIT: looks like our friends over at Metra; http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...AMARO&_sacat=0

Really sad to hear this. I have done a great deal of business with Mike and He always delivered and returned my phone calls within a day or two at the most. He really make a great product, probably the best speaker adapters by far that I've personally seen.
