Cool GM Milford Proving Ground Video Feature

From Fbodfather:

Very few people from the outside world have had the opportunity to see the inside of a very secretive place in Southeastern Michigan—the GM Proving Ground in Milford, Michigan.

Attached is a 10+ minute video that gives a brief history of the MPG as well as a quick look at various facilities and road courses that are used 24/7/365. Talking with outsiders that have had the privilege of seeing the Proving Ground – you’ll find that they’re amazed at the beauty of the landscape – the lakes and trees and wide-open spaces…also the elevation changes. It truly is a magical place.

Ask any GM employee and they’ll tell you that one never gets tired of the MPG – always something interesting to see or experience……

I remember this from the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2012! Those roads were lots of fun, awesome facility.

I was there too, although I was in my Corvette.
Friend of mine took this video as he followed me on our way out of the facility.

Wow,looking at some of the facebook postings of people that worked there, they seem to have had a lot of fun,i would love to work at a place like that for G.M., I have been here at the same dealership for 32 years, seen one of the fb post's where a guy put 37 years in at the grounds,im sure he has a nice retirement from there, unlike what I will end up with from here, lol

Thanks for sharing this Scott! Sometime we forget how much work goes into building these cars we see on the road.

I'm thinking we found our CAMARO FEST VI location! Who's with me?

Awesome! Buddy of mine at the railroad was a Corvette Teach at the MPG for a few years before he came here. He has some pretty neat stories.

That was a very neat video. I have always heard of the Milford Proving Grounds, but I had no idea how big the facility really was and what all was there.

Thanks Scott and Tran. I like others had no idea the Proving Grounds were that big.

Thanks for sharing that video.

What foresight GM had to build the Milford facility back in 1924
when thousands of acreage was available.

Those video's have been around for a while, but it was still cool to be reminded of GM;s history during the war,not that it just builds cars etc...I love looking back to a time when every american still put the country above all else, I am proud to of served,as i am proud of all those still serving !!! Thank you GM...
