Wow.

But I have a red 911, so am still sticking with black Z/28.

Sure sold me on the colour..........ordering a 2SS 1LE next week in Red Hot. Main reason I went to the show. Wanted to try the Recaro seats too but only the Z28 had them and it was roped off. GM dropped the ball on that. I couldn't figure out their thinking with the Camaros on display either, had 3 Red Hot (Z28,ZL1,SS Coupe) and a blue vert.
You'd think they would have them in different colours, lucky for me they had mine.....

Red, Black and White seem to be the colours that really look good on the Z/28

I might have gone for the pre-production white, but that white was not for sale.

It was never clear to me why the Camaro team would paint a pre-production Z/28 in a color they would not sell and you cannot buy.

Somebody here said "That has been done before" but that is not really an answer to the question. We now see how great the car looks in the production colors so what was gained, beside disappointing future buyers, by showing the car in a color I can't buy? Wasn't the very surprise existence and announcement of the car enough of a publicity draw, not to mention the extreme performance of the car itself? Why was it felt an exclusive paint treatment for an already exclusive machine was also necessary?

It sill makes no sense to me.

Maybe it's the same people at GM that thought it was a good idea to have 3 of the 4 Camaros on display the exact same colour
