The guys don't know squat....they can't tell where the tires are or where the car ends. I have no problems telling where my tires are or the corners of the car is, and mine is not in the realm of the advances in the Z28!

I think they are missing the point.
It is very likely the Z/28 will be last and best of the Old School Muscle Cars. It is the ultimate refinement of a 60's hotrod, but with all the bad mojo fixed. It handles, it brakes, it's durable, and it starts in all weather and at all altitudes. But it lacks some very important features, and in that is the beauty of the beast. It doesn't drive the car for you. Or even try. It is a car for people who want tame a wild animal without Roy and Zigfried in the cage with them. Time will tell how kind history will be to the 2014 Z/28. But I have a sneaking suspicious someday it will be talked about like the COPO cars of yesteryear. "Sonny, back in my day you could buy a fire breathing monster called a 427 Z/28. Only the best could tame that dragon, but if you could, you could show your tail lights to some of the world's most famous sportscars costing twice as much even though their cars did most of the driving for them.

There looking at it like hi would you buy a muscle car that doesn't do everything for you when you could have a (insert foreign car here) that practically drives itself

The thing that they missed, which to me indicates the "is it worth it" factor is the direct comparison with comparably equipped cars for the same price. There are none. According to the published results the Z/28 laps tracks faster than cars priced at least twice and some three times as much. you want a kick ass track car without breaking the bank it has to be the Z/28.

75k on a car isn't breaking the bank? if you have that much for a car, your not shopping on price.

You are shopping for what you want to drive. I could certainly afford a GTR or GT3. But I chose the Z/28. Can't stand Nissan's, I've had two that the were biggest piles of steaming dung I ever had the misfortune of owning. Something was always breaking on them, and I didn't even beat on them. Transmission at 4000 miles of easy driving and had get my lawyer to send them a letter to get them to honor the warranty? They said, "you apparently don't know how to drive stick". Please. Something fell apart inside the trans and locked it into 2 gears. It just says Nissan will say and do anything to avoid paying warranty, and they spend very little on quality control or employee training. No wonder they changed their name from Datsun to hide the brand. They need to do it again. Porsche? Nice sportscars. But for that kind of coin, I'd have a prancing stallion on my hood. Hate to admit it, but I LOVE driving Ferraris. And as long as none of my friends see me (I don't want anyone to think I'm a drug dealer), the Lambo 550 is a FREAKING RIOT to drive. I don't even CARE if it's fast. It's fun. Nothing oversteers as easy and tasty as the Lambo. IMO the Z/28 was targeted at the Boss 302 Laguna Seca. Looks like the ball in the Ford court now, and they are a few players on the injured list.

It simply amazes me what good engineering can do to improve car designs. Given the political and social environments just a few years ago, the rebirth of the muscle car is remarkable. I am very glad we are steering away from every single car being a warm n fuzzy hybrid, plastered with bumper stickers informing you how to think.
75k is certainly not too much, given the entire package out of the box IMO. I would like to think that the Z/28 is not the last true muscle car but rather the first in a new line of performance driven, passion inspired muscle cars. |

They are just listing off parts on the car and have no clue what they are talking about.

Personally I don't care HOW it looks. I care WHY it looks. They could have put Pokemon art on the doors as long as the scoops scoop, vents vent, flairs are used to wide tires, and spoilers installed are actually needed. Too many cars today have "performance" body features that just glued on ornaments. The people who say it's not worth $75k aren't shopping for $75k cars anyways. Are you in the market for a max trim CTS-V? Or a designer label ZL-1? Or a entry level Porsche? Then $75k cars aren't in your future.
