Gas Mileage :(

Its been a few months already and I've noticed that the mileage is not too great in my 2Lt, I know its not as economical as the 2Ls, but I seem to be getting as little as 11 mpg now. The car still has less than 1500 miles on it, Ill bring up the issue when I go back to the dealer for an oil change.

I have a CAI on mine that I switched from my other car and have been using premium gas since I got the car...I know you can use regular gasoline, but I swear the 2Ls ran a little smoother and gave me slightly better mileage like that.

I recently cleaned and re oiled the air filter on the CAI. (as per instructions and taking care not to over-oil)

so taking into account the differences in gears, I was wondering if the CAI had anything to do with it, the one I have was meant to fit 2010-2013 models. there is a slight difference with the gril, but otherwise the engine compartment is exactly the same in 2010-2014 models.

Theres no reason you should be having that terrible of gas mileage. Hell, I get about 17/18 city and 25 highway.

My LT is right under 20 mpg at almost at 2000 miles (highway) and I'm not easy on the pedal at all. With your mpg something else is going on.

We need to know more about your driving habits and also how you came up with 11mpg.

Also, not sure that a CAI would affect your mileage much, but maybe you somehow messed with the MAF?

It's been discussed at length regarding fuel octane, but you are absolutely wasting money by putting higher octane fuel in your v6.

That doesn't sound right. I'm getting 16/24 on my 2SS and I'm not a conservative driver.

Premium gas doesn't do much for a regular engine..

Are you sure you GM didn't put a ZL1 engine in there?

+1 - that's exactly the mileage I get out of mine. I just went back to the stock intake and no change in mpg

Why did you already oil your filter? It's like 10,000 miles between recharges typically
