how low can you go before stock dampers fail?

How low can you go before the stock dampers fail and ride suffers?

I never recommend going lower than 1.4" on stock dampers. Beyond that the ride gets bad and their service life will be dramatically reduced. Anything less than that is fine but if you want more than you need to consider coil overs.

If you're considering CoilOvers, Chase could set you up with some nice units from Ridetech. Great ride, great handling, and a million and one mile warranty.

1.5 is really the limit, but I prefer to stick with the 1.25 or less.

Best regards,

Based on my knowledge 1.5"

However on some JDM cars we have gone as low as 2" without issues and no failures, but the wear does increase over time which is a given.

Something to also consider is the spring rates used.. struts are gas charged. So spring rates that are too high cause cause seals to leak prematurely in addition to riding too low.

Theres always people that get away with things but we all drive different roads. Some guys have smooth roads while some of us have city pothole dodging to deal with.

Same as with engines, theres no true way to tell how long something will last. Theres no scale that says if you add a supercharger on stock internals yoy only have 500 miles till kaboom. Everyones situation is different and there are far too many variables to even begin to give an exact or ball park answer. Then youd have to factor in climate and so many other variables.

Best answer you can get to this is as saod...itll prob happen sooner than later and def no way of telling how soon.
