Convert from navigation to non-navigation?

I got a 2014 ZL1 Coupe that has the MyLink with navigation and I want to convert it to a non-navigation system.

Why? Because Scosche kit only works on cars without navigation due to "different data systems" according Scosche.

Now I am wondering if anyone in here knows exactly what is different and how I can convert it to a non-Navigation system so that I can finally use the Scosche kit in my car.

Thanks all!

I'm in the process of upgrading to an extra market navigation system. I will have a Mylink w/o nav. available to who ever.

Sorry but not really sure how that is relevant in my thread.

You might have better luck in the audio forum.....

However I don't think that's correct info. I converted my 12 w/o MyLink to a NAV MyLink and all that is required is the unit and some harnesses, so I don't see how any "data systems" are different.

That sounds promising. Do you also get the navigation show up in your gauge cluster and HUD? And was that a ZL1 too?

Yes and yes. The MyLink I added has every bit of functionality as one that came from the factory. Wasn't an option on the 12 ZL1 so I added it. Gen5DIY sells a retro kit. No programming of the vehicle is done, so the "data system" line......not buying it.

What kit are you looking to use?

Why would you ever take Nav. Out? Didn't you pay extra for it?
This one makes No sense to me.
But nothing ceases to amaze me lately....

Most likely he wants something different than the stock Nav unit! The reason aftermarket companies exist. If he pulled the stock crappy sound system installed would you still be giving him grief? Same reasoning as the Nav unit.

Not giving him grief ! This forum is about opinions and I'm stating mine but Also wondering why someone would pay the extra money for Nav and then take it out for a system that in my experience doesn't have it.
The stock sound system isn't the clearest that's for sure but overall is a nice system for a stock one and My link works and performs effortlessly and perfectly, at least in my car it does.
Just seemed like a weird one to me, so I was trying to get some more insight from the op ....I guess maybe I sounded a little harsh but Hey Oh Well.....

well you have a wiring harness issue you have to work though. this kit is to add aftermaket deck so you would be replacing the non- nav unit as well.

I would call schoshe or gen 5 diy. they might understand what is different in the pinout.

He mentioned bringing it to Sweden in another thread. Factory nav isn't supported there, so aftermarket is the only choice.
