Question Squared 1LE's wheels & tires setup for an automatic?

Who had upgraded their automatic SS Camaro towards the 1LE's squared wheels & tire set up? Tell us about your driving experience compared to your prior stock setup.

Unless you have considerable track time, you aren't likely to notice any difference. The "square setup" pertains to road coarse racing, not daily driving.

I did it just for the fact I can rotate tires now instead of having 2 of same size.

Sometimes to take it to the track, I like a good handling car.
Are those 285's?

They are stock ss size rears on all 4 corners. 275/40 since I had the rears already I just got 2 new ones for the front. After this set I might wider.

I have upgraded to 20x9 all around with 275/35s.
Performed well on the road course. Recently upgraded to FE4 LCA and ZL1 takeoff rear sway(1LE same). But haven't tracked with this combo yet.
The lower profile of my tires rides slightly more harsh but I don't mind.

Square setup cuts down on the understeer. The car will turn more responsive with more tire upfront. Right now I am running 275/20 but will be moving to 285/35 with next tire change.

I am running 295 30 19 on all 4 corners... car definitely corners much better, haven't met a turn I couldn't really power through yet.

Going to a square set up on an SS won't be too noticeable for just daily driving. Widening the front tires is going to make it more responsive to the the road and will grip better. It will also make the car more neutral for the track, meaning it will take out some of the understeer.

I don't have the 1LE squared wheels set-up or an automatic...

I am currently running PFADT lowered springs and ZL Spec sways with their upgraded swaybar links. My wheel and tire combo are N'burgs 20x10 with Nitto INVO 275/40/20 on all 4s. I don't track my car, it is currently my DD. I have about 15k miles on this set-up. Unfortunately, I cannot say how the set-up performs on just the wheel/tire combo alone, as I did everything at once. What I can say is that this set-up is WAY better than the stock SS set-up. The car feels more neutral than before. I don't go crazy on the streets, but I noticed the car less roll and more grip on the curvy roads.

If you have a Camaro (profile says you own a mustang), I would suggest ZL1/1LE style sways as well as a squared set-up. I am not sure if I like the idea of running a 285 tire on an 11" wheel. Personally, I'd find a 9" or 10" wheel that I liked with the correct offsets and run either a 275 or 285 tire. I went with the 275 tire as I felt that the difference between that and 285 was negligible. Also, it seemed that there were more tire options for the 275, and it was stock tire height.

Yes my profile is a '11 Mustang GT 5.0, I am not married to any car brand (prior sport cars: Infiniti G35 coupe & Porsche 911 Carrera) all of them standard transmission. I consider my self a sport car fan. I have a deep respect for Corvette's and the Camaro (Z28, ZL1 & 1LE), after test driving the 1LE, I felt in love with the way the car handled, and I also tested the automatic SS and did not feel the same, since now I'm planning to replace my 5.0 for an automatic because I need one, I'm looking for possible options like an automatic SS with upgraded 285's squared tires and wheels. I really hope that the new '16 Camaro with the automatic transmission option, could come with the 1LE package that really transformed the Camaro driving feeling.
