thank you scrming and mikevrod for inspiring me with your custom exhaust.
When down to my local performance exhaust shop today. installed a new set of Magnaflows with 4" tips. I was blown away by the sound of my new custom exhaust. heart pumping deep low tones, pure muscular sound. my local shop (http://www.muffler-tech.com) did a remarkable job putting them all together. here are some pics and videos. in cabin embedded video: (click on the video to view in HD) Videos: (updated) newest video: revving, take-off and drive-by (take 2) Stock Exhaust Custom Exhaust Custom Exhaust (Cold Start) Custom Exhaust (Revving with small Take-off) Custom Exhaust (Drive by) Custom Exhaust in cabin video city/highway cruise Pics: (updated)

Would you mind telling me how much $$ for the kit? Or is it just mufflers and the rest custom-fabbed? I already have muffler delete but I'll bet those Magnaflows sound deeper. Does it cackle at all when you let off the gas?
Thanks |

the 2 videos are also taken with the 5D mkII. Hope I'll be able to shoot a neighbourhood drive-by video like that one you did a while ago. btw, what did you use to mount your video cam in the cabin ?

Sounds really good.
A friend of mine has a magnaflow catback on his grand prix gt. His doesn't sound nearly as good as yours (then again, its not nearly as good an engine). - X

I have the absolute identical setup on mine, completed about 6 weeks ago. Total cost for me was $440 incl tax and fab work. Btw I'm located in the pacific northwest for cost comparison purposes.

My 70- 200 is the 2.8 , after the first $1200 what's another 300 for a faster model .... And the plus side of the 2.8 it turns on all the focus points on the Mark II anything slower than 2.8 only give you 9 points. I also use the 2x converter with the 100-400 and can get way out there with it. I used it on a trip to Alaska and the shots on Mt. Denali are crazy good ... They weren't with the Mark II though, just got that last January .... ( Had to wait for that forever also )

Not meaning to take away from the camera discussion (cause I do have an appreciation for a nice camera!) lol.....but can we get maybe a tad more detail about your exhaust?
Specifically....a Magnaflow muffler part # or something to go off of? By the way....nice sounding exhaust! Looking forward to more videos!

Hello everyone, sorry kept you guys waiting.

Sorry for the hijack before......But when peeps start talking about the 5D Mark II I start getting kinda giddy.... For any of you with the money to burn on photo stuff, the camera in AWESOME. It will give you the same feeling as your new car does.... It has the look and feel of a man's camera. And if you shoot in RAW ...OMG the detail in unbelievable .... Opps sry did it again.... (hijacked)

Just had a a long 6 hours trip. I'm in Vancouver Island now.
When cruising, it does drone around 2000rpm in 6th gear (100km/h). but I like it tho. ![]() update: didn't have enough time to shoot the drive-by and take-off video. stay tuned. by the way, I hit the speed limiter @ 190KM/H today. here is a picture for you guys (taken today at the ferry terminal):

hmm...I'm really looking forward to more videos! And an in cabin while driving would be sweet too (I hope we're not asking for too much!! lol)
I'm thinking this could be a great less expensive alternative to the $1100 + MBRP or the $1,600 Corsas that I really like as well. I just wish I could hear that drone myself...I could deal with some drone...but if its too overbearing then I know I wouldn't be happy with that either. Is it right at the 2000RPM mark? Thanks again!

just did this after trying about 7 other mufflers and combinations of mufflers/resonators. With all the experimentation I've done I'm a few hundred short of buying the Corsa system, lol. I went with this because it sounded good and is relatively QUIET inside! Inside it sounds just a little more athletic than stock. You won't set off alarms in parking garages, get tickets, annoy neighbors or flaunt the v6 sound with this setup. It looks good, sounds good...I'm finally happy.
Basically if you're looking for something that gives you the cosmetic upgrade of 4" tips and gets rid of the nasty stock mufflers as well as sounding a bit more sporty and tuned then this is what you want. When I get some time I'll post in more detail on all of the experimentation I've done but suffice it to say I've tried a lot of stuff and this is the first setup I've been happy with. |
