That's right, some people have said the view out of a Camaro is limited..But as of August 31st, Camaro's will be built with back up sensors. A new feature for those with cars on order!

Back up sensors will be included on the 2SS, 2LT and 1LT w/SRJ package.

Two questions...

Will they be able to retrofit current cars? If so, I'm in!

But do they have those ugly dots on the rear bumpers? If so, I may pass. :(

Back up sensors on your muscle cars, not good. I have them on our minivan and thats where they belong. Bet ya the Mustang and Challenger forums will have a field day with this option.

I like the sensors but hate the look of the dots on the rear! Already have my ride so won't affect mine...wonder if there will be an increase in price?

I would think you could just buy another rear fascia and unplug everything if you don't like the look.

Can someone confirm the increase in MSRP? I heard it was basically $300 increase.

I just looked on Chevy's site and built my 2SS and it looks like the prices haven't changed yet. I would imagine they will though.

I like the option but hope the sensors are not very visible.....No fisheye rear bumpers (fingers crossed).

, you can get back sensors in the Mustang right now so why would they have a field day. And where does it say you can have sensors on a muscle car. Step into the 2000s man where tech is king quit living in the past.

Given the fact that the majority of people buying these cars aren't planning to be race heads, your point is moot. More non-racers will buy these cars then you think, the majority sold will be V6s so I'm pretty sure people buying the V6s aren't worried about being the fastest and worrying about the weight of the car.

I'm all for tech. But as a proud V6 owner, it funny how our cars are considered inferior, by some - not all, because we didn't get the true muscle car V8. It is my opinion that it doesn't belong on this type of car, thats all.

im a fan boy for the park assist, but for some who have view such as yours, there should be a delete option on 2SS ans 2LT.

IMO this is a good choice by GM to add the backup sensors. Many people have requested this feature in multiple threads on this website. It is great that GM is listening.
