Steering Wheel Noise

I just bought a 2011 Camaro 2SS, and I have noticed there is a faint steering wheel noise when turning the steering wheel. Kinda sounds like the noise a squeegee makes. Anyone else have this noise, and is it normal?

Just video recorded the noise. You can hear it at the 5 second mark.

That's the steering connection. The steering pump sounds way worst. I am about to replace my second steering pump. Going Turn one this time.

If you have headers they are rubbing the steering shaft boot

You can pop the hood and see for yourself

Hey dude I had the same problem and went to the dealership and they told me to come back when I have a real problem and not some just faint noise on a 25k mile car. I really did not like their answer but I have just come to deal with it. I guess it is better than they don't rip my car apart just for some little noise which doesn't hurt anything. But that is just my 2 cents on the matter

Yeah, it doesnt hurt anything just a minor annoyance. It doesnt make that noise during regular driving. So I assume it is pretty common then?

There is an air bag part inside the steering column, technicians call it a clock spring. It is a rotating connection. That would be my guess. I can hear it in my car if it is quiet and the radio and A/C are off. I'm not concerned about mine.

Ya I do believe it is a common issue. I solved the probably with getting headers! Now I can never hear it

Mine has a slight squeegee squeak when turning the wheel counter-clockwise and traveling slowly. It's mostly noticeable when manuvering through parking lots.
