holley mid rise

Ok some one had posted that the holley mid rise does not fit under the stock hood. Well it does.....just barely. it does rub the hood liner but it fits under the stock hood. the cowl does need to be cut still but the hood doesn't need to be replace for it to fit. I can take pictures tomorrow if anyone would like to see proof.
Just thought i would clear this up lol

What about when the motor torques up under load? My motor comes up an inch easy with the stock mounts.

sounds like you need solid motor mounts!

mine doesn't even move an inch and when it does move its side to side not straight up. so with that being said the sides on the mid rise are tapered so you would actually have more room.....and as said above seems like you need some solid mounts

Yea I just have the stock mounts. Going solid with the new motor. With stock mounts it will lift one side when it torques up.

I said it wouldn't clear stock hood because the front of my lid was above the plain of the fenders where the stock hood is still shallow before the cowl rises.

Does your passenger linkage clear?
Is your car lowered?

When you launch hard or even rev hard if camed those soft OEM mounts will let the motor dance around which will wear your hood liner down, but it looks like yours landed about a half inch lower than mine...

Wonder if the fact that my suspension is slammed changes my drive line angle which is why I have slightly tighter tolerances....
I also already had prothane mounts which also drop motor height by a 1/4 inch.

yeah I'm not worried about the hood liner as its coming off my ac compressor belt broke and put a hole in it anyway.....the car currently doesn't run so idk about the flex and i plan on just fabbing up some solid mounts for it......also doesnt look like the linkage is going to clear for the pas wiper

So with aftermarket motor mounts the mid rise will fit?

Are they before and after dyno numbers for bolt on cars?

i don't have motor mounts so the mid rise will fit under the stock hood but you have to cut the cowl still. motor mounts will help with the fitment i.e. it will help with the front of the mid rise rubbing the hood liner
