ARH to borlas, not a piece of cake?

Are we missing something here, I'm at the best muffler guy in town, he has been doing it for 30 years and I'm looking at car on lift, pairing the borls axle back to ARH the bends don't come close, the angle is terrible coming out of the borlas. I know at least one person has done this setup, what did you guys do. I thought it was going to be a breeze.

Wow, my man...I don't know what to say. I wasn't there for the actual install of my Borlas, but they never mentioned any problems with mating the two sides, except for the fact that they had to use approx. 1 1/2-2 feet of the OEM exhaust piping to complete the hook up. I would imagine if they left enough of the OEM piping on there, they could twist it a bit until it mates up. Keep us informed. Worse case scenerio...call Mark at ZZMotorsports and get a bit of advice from him.

Did you look at yours to see the quality, this guy is figuring it out but no way stock pipes borlas and arh would be ok, we are custom bending everyhing. I will take some pics hopefully.

That was the same thing I though when I got my ARH LTs and borla. I don't even have my car yet and new something looks funny. You have to use about 2 feet of the old exhaust system to make it meet up.

This is the other thread u can read up on:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35488
Also this is a picture of SwiftCat's car and you can see a section of the old piping.

The section in red is the piping you will have to use from the factory exhaust.

Call Mark at ZZMotorsports (724-597-7110)...he's done a few of them with this set up, and I don't recall mine having to be bent at all at the shop I went to.

Also the ARH LTs were ment to be used with the factory exhaust. Far as I know the factory piping is stainless steel. I don't think there should be any problems with it. I think Borla or ARH should look at including this little section of piping in there kits.

Make sure and post some videos this afternoon. Swifts cars sounds awesome. By far the best system I've heard so far. I am now thinking of putting the 3" exhaust diverters from Neweeds just to scare people.

This is one reason I am doing my install myself. Now they are going to charge you for some piping and unnecessary bending when they could have used the factory piping.

Well, I'm glad at least that you have someone working on it that you trust. Let us know later how you like them...after you're done driving like a bashee today. FYI...it'll take a bit for the car to re-learn the different A/F ratio, so it may bog in power a bit at first. But hold your britches...it'll pick up quickly and give you a s**t-eatin grin in short order.

That is just weird...
I have done this exact install on 2 cars, and installed just the Borla on 3 more...They have all fit perfect, just cut the old mufflers off, and then they slip right over the stock pipes and clamped on.

Even with the ARH system they just fit right on the stock pipe that was still there. I would like to see some pictures to see what the heck is going on there.

Let me know if I can help in anyway.

Were all done and i'm back at home now, I took after pictures, stock pipe was definitely there to start with but didn't take any pictures of that. Not saying anyone is wrong just saying mine definitely weren't right maybe borla just bent mine wrong or something, but there is no way in the world they just hooked right in. Its not big deal and i'm not trying to cause a panic just wanted to share. I took several pics all i had was iphone, I am gonna eat lunch and will post them sometime this afternoon.

I will try and do pics but finished product doesn't really do us any good. I didn't think to take pics of the factory pipes. But basically the piping coming out the rear of the borlas was at an upward angle and no way it connnected to any spot in the factory piping at the angle it was at.

Will try to get some video but all I have is an Iphone so we will see and right now don't have anyone to help me

JPSuperman, We did the install here at the shop and it took a 1/2 hour to mate the two systems. We install the header system first. We then cut the factory pipes to mate to the Borla system. It's really very simple. Only a small portion of the original system is used. Your cat back should've lined up perfectly.
