RS Package with Polished Wheels

Hello!

I finally ordered my car this past Friday... 2SS/RS ABM with white stripes.

Anyways, I've searched around the forums here, and cannot find the solution that I'm looking for. I ordered the car with the RS package but I want polished wheels, not the Midnight Silver finish. My dealer is having trouble submitting the order to GM, saying that Midnight Silver is only option for the RS package.

Here's my question: Am i totally making it up that I've seen info that says that polished OR midnight silver is a choice with the RS package? I can't seem to find it anywhere, and i REALLY don't think i'm crazy!!! If i'm not making it up, can someone help me find the info that says this is actually a choice?

Thanks!

Midnight Silver is the option shown for RS package, you need to add polished wheels for 470.00 as well as the RS package. Its a very common option your dealer shouldn't have a problem. It even shows you the option when you build a car at chevy.com.

I ordered the 2SS/RS package with the polished aluminum wheels, which was a $470 option. Picked the car up 2 weeks ago. Just check the box.

I would say find a new dealer if they can't do something that simple but like the others have mentioned add the RS package and the 470 upgrade and it will be correct.

OK, yes, I understand that you can PAY $470 to get the polished, perhaps I wasn't clear enough.

I'm positive I once saw that midnight silver OR polished was available as a choice as PART of the RS package, not on top of it.

Logically/Presumably, part of the $1200 RS option is for a wheel finish upgrade. What happens to that $$ if you order ANOTHER wheel upgrade??

bah.

Nope always has been additional, RS is midnight silver period. Polished is extra period.

Same, 2SS RS with additional 470.00 charge. I would talk to my dealer again.

While I agree a option or Allowance would be nice they won't ever offer it. They make RS cheaper on SS because ss has 20's already and LT's don't but other than that the RS package includes midnights and if you want polished you Gotta pay. Does it make sense no but it's not a deal breaker.

Thanks to all who have responded so quickly, but here's my biggest dilemma: I have a FANTASTIC memory, and do not have the tendency to make things up, and i could have SWORN that I saw/read/WHATEVER this SOMEWHERE, and I cannot come to grips that I could have totally made this up in my head. hahaha... meh.

I have a photographic memory and over 1900 posts on here and I have never read anything to contrary of what we posted. If you read it it definitely wasn't fact anyway.

Definately $470 EXTRA for the polished wheels on top of the RS package. I'm not sure where you got the idea that you had the choice.... maybe it was a Mustang site ?

My wife got them, and I have to tell you, we are not impressed. I wish we wouldn't have wasted the money. In our case we picked CGM and thought that the polished wheels would really pop against the dark grey, but they are not really that polished, I think the Midnight silver would have looked better. The polished just aren't all that bright. I think if we get around to buying aftermarket wheels soon we will buy either black chrome or black wheels.

I guess this begs the question: If the SS came with 20 inch wheels and you didn't get the RS package, what kind of 20's are they if not polished?

The standard 20's on SS are the silver wheels. You can get the midnight wheels with the RS package (just like the LTs) or "upgrade" to the polished for an additional charge.
