z28 Engine Covers
If I get the Z28 fuel rail covers and have the "427" shaved off, does anyone know for certain if these will fit over the valve covers of our LS3s? Not being a prick, but no need for 30 posts about the z28 having the ls7, i'm fully aware, just wondering if the covers will fit (I'm also aware that there is no filler hole on the right cover and needs to be fabricated). I hate trapping that heat under our blanketed ls3 factory engine covers. I think Rotofab makes these too, but i love the look of the oem z28 ones

Yeah there are plenty of Z/28 type covers. The OEM Corvette engine covers are basically the same as the Z/28s. Phastek has the Rotofab covers you are referring to.

Thanks, however, I don't want them to say "corvette" nor do I want gaudy paint jobs or chrome looking stuff. Love the simple textured look of the z28 cover, minus obviously the "427" which can be shaved off and covered.

I know it can be done. I have seen it at a show. The guy had a lot of stuff moved around tho so I don't know what's the minimum to make it work. He had his stock ls3 and everything that black crinkle texture in engine bay.

Thanks. I'm most likely going the vette ls3 route, and finding a cost effective way to get rid of the "corvette" script. The link CamaroDreams posted is awesome, but the $500 they want is insane

You can find them on eBay for a reasonable price. Talk to Emblem Pros, they can make a plate to cover the Corvette. I'm interested to see how it comes out!

I knew I had a picture of some. I was thinking about doing this with mine, but went with the one I have instead.
(This is from another Camaro5 post, the picture is not mine)

Thank You. I like the look and the lack of "blanketing". I sent a message to another C5 member who did this last year. Couple of questions to save me the headache of reengineering.

I got the covers unfinished for $275 shipped, the hydrodip was part of a 9 piece package that cost me $500. That included the engine covers, plenum cover, fuse block cover, intake tube, cai cover, strut tower brace and the trays over the tail lights. Not bad as far as I'm concerned I figure if I had just the engine covers done it would have been less than $200 for both.

Nope, they are a little tricky to put in, but basically 4 bolts and some rubber tubing over the fuel line that goes across to dress it up
