Someone's driving the he!! out of my old Camaro!

I picked up my 2010 2SS with only 4800 miles on it. Drove it for three years and because it wasn't my primary vehicle only put 21k on it by the time I traded it in.
I got a notice in the mail saying that "My" 2010 was due for a major service and that it currently had 46k mi. on it..
HOLY CRAP!! Whoever bought my car has put 25,000 miles on it in just over 6 months!!!

That's some serious driving.. It's good to know that the third owner is getting some serious use out of it, it was a great car.

They'd have piled it into a pole leaving the coffee shop...

I wouldn't pay attention to a mailing on the car, unless it was something that is about guaranteed to be right. It may have just gave a wild guess number on the mileage considering year and average miles on 2010 Camaro's.

I agree.

I just got a mailing on my Hyundai Sonata from the dealer, that it missed its 4-month maintenance.

I bought the car new in 2007, and don't use that dealer for service! 165,000 miles and nine years have passed, I'll say it missed the four-month service!

Dealers estimate mileage based on time. It means nothing.

Yep, I get letters all the time telling me that my car is out of warranty.
It's less than a year old and has almost 6K miles.

no that would be asking for so many issues. that and there are many people not using OnStar. If they were able to do that, the dealer would freak out if they read my cars computer. I've serviced everything myself since I got my car off lease, even with the warranty it still had.

Interesting. I've received mailers from this dealer for years in the past and they've always been based on numbers pulled from service visits...
Guess I'll never know unless I run into them. The number does seem a bit on the high side...

We get e-mails from onstar all the time telling us when customers vehicle that were sold at our dealership are coming up for an oil change based on percentages.

They do get the mileage from onstar or something. My last lease (2LT) my salesman kept calling me and telling me he was getting notices that I was going way over on my miles and he knew my mileage.
