Oil Change Intervals

Okay, not another oil change question or post....

But if I am using synthetic oil, how long can I go between oil changes? Only reason for my concern is that I commute 500 miles per week. All highway, and I just am curious/concerned about the interval lengths.

I have been blessed with working long hours but at the same time, it does put a strain on getting the simple maintenance done.

Thanks guys,

EagleRS

the filter will need to be changed before your full synth oil.

Just change it by the filter's listed mileage or whenever the oil is pretty dark ...whichever comes first.

Plenty of tests done that show full synth can be run for over 10k miles before deteriorating to the point of used conventional oil. The oil filters need to be changed at proper intervals though... but nobody changes one without the other.

5000 miles in your case every three months.
after that you can also send an oil sample to Blackstone labs

http://www.blackstone-labs.com/

to see what condition the oil is in, then you can change the interval after that.
