Any other folks with such a poor factory alignment?
Just wanted to see if anyone else discovered such a poor alignment from the factory and give other owners a heads up they might want to get theirs checked out.

My Z has a slight alignment issue. The wheel is just so slightly turned. Need to get it checked, but haven't had time.

Ruined my stock tires due to how poor the alignment was.

Definitely check yours people. My factory toe was TERRIBLE!
Left front: -1/16 Right front: 9/32 (that's 3x out of spec) Total front: 7/32 Left rear: 1/32 Right rear: 5/32 Total rear: 5/32 It doesn't get much worse than that. |

is this something you would take it to the dealership for? in order to drive straight i have to have the steering will slightly to the right, but it's not super bad.

Yep, not just Camaro. Check any new car/truck esp. GM.

My steering wheel was slightly off center from the factory. I had the dealer do an alignment a few months ago but it's still not straight. Nothing drastic but still not what you expect from a new car. I'll probably have them do another alignment.

Find a good independent shop to do the alignment properly. The steering wheel will be straight if they have a clue about what they are doing.

Same issue...mine pulls to the left so I'm taking it to the Goodyear down the street that did my previous cars' alignments. Good (or bad?) to know I'm not the only one.

Had to have three of my four tires replaced with less than 300 miles due to noise and vibration. The road force balance was off.
Why they did not replace the fourth tire is beyond me. It is odd. Also my A8 trans acts up intermittently. It' will shudder and then not downshift at a stop, then slip cuz its stuck in 3rd gear. My point is with everything I see on this forum and the issues I have had it seems quality control at GM is lacking. That is all just venting. |

The factory only sets the car up roughly. It's the dealers responsibility to do a alignment during the PDI. That being said it almost never gets done. I have had to align my STI, 2 Dodge Rams and my HD2500. The Camaro will be very soon.

Before signing the papers on my ZL1 I had the service dept check the alignment. From the factory it was set in "Track" alignment per the tech. They asked if they should leave it there or did I want the "normal" street alignment. I chose the street. The "Track" alignment would have severely worn my tires I was told. The fronts might have lasted about 3000 miles before the wear patterns would have made them unusable. The back settings weren't very different from the street, but still would have caused higher wear on the tires.
Just my experience with the new car delivery from the factory at the dealership. Your experiences may differ.
