Black Sticker removal

My wife bought a 2013 Camaro with the black panels on the hood, these are some kind of vinyl stickers. They also put a round one on the gas cap door which I would like to remove. What is the best way to remove one of these stickers. I don't want to heat it up too hot, it is the gas cap door (i.e. boom). I tried pealing it off, not much luck. thx!

When I replace my vinyl stripes I started with a heat gun, then went with a hair dryer but in the end I pulled most off cold. Try it cold then work your way up in heat levels. I seriously doubt any hair dryer creates enough heat to explode a gas tank.

Pics would help

Hair dryer set to hi. Soften it up and peel.

Hair dryer or heat gun work w big area then peel form the outside trying to grip and pull the whole sheet as mush comes loose for a even peel off then heating as you go to help....the sun helps make vinyl limber....And some googone or goopoff ..to help clean up residue with a microfiber towel.

I never got the appeal of people getting black or chrome gas cap lids either. People are even doing that on the 6th gen which looks even worse due to the oddball location right next to the door.

However, they do look good on certain Mopars like the Challenger.

Change for changes is usually a bad idea. Auto designers and engineers
have tried for 50 years to hide the fuel door and guys go and do dumb
things like this. Makes no sense to me.

That does look bad, just one random polka dot on the side of the car. Park it in the sun for a day then use a hair dryer to peel it off.

That blows my mind too, other than this gas cap, this car was spotless, at a Chevy dealership, as a 1 owner trade in, and at a decent price. I should have asked them to take it off. I'm sure they would have done that to sell it. thx!
