My newest DIY mod!

Hey everyone!
I was getting tired of the “stone” stitching on my seats so I decided to see if I could change it up and make the stitching green to match my car. I went to a craft store and bought the greenest fabric pen I could buy. I tried it in a discreet place and it came out pretty blue. So I went and got another pen from sharpie and tried it. It came out PERFECT. The pen had a fine side and a thick side so I tried the fine side first because the sharpie didn’t wipe off the leather very well leaving a slightly green tint wherever it touched. The fine side worked well but took forever so I tried using the thick side and wiping every two inches or so. This seemed to work pretty well so that’s what I did for most of the car. In total it took about two and a half hours to do the front seats, center arm rest, door arm rests, and steering wheel with someone helping me. I am super happy with how it came out and I think if anyone is getting tired of their boring stock stitching, this is a great way to add a little custom touch.

I was worried after doing the door panels that it might be too much but I’m glad I did everything! It’s discreet but noticeable enough to be a cool mod!

Lol you should just sit and spend a few hours doing it. It really changes the feel of the interior

Looks Great! I've got the Orange/Red leather seats in my Camaro so I'm happy with it's current look but I might try this with a red Sharpie in my Mercedes.

Thank you! I just used a normal sharpie which some people don’t recommend but it worked great with me. I think fabric pens wipe off the leather better but if you end up using a normal sharpie I’d recommend being careful not to get on the leather too much or you might get a faint red tint on the leather even after you wipe. Good luck!

My fabric marker has held up for the past year and a half with only slight discoloration where my hands rest on the wheel.

It's so amazing how a small insignificant change can have such a huge positive impact on how one feels about their ride! A very clean looking job!

You probably saved a little money compared to having everything re-stitched or buying all new interior from a salvage yard!

In total this cost me about ten dollars ($6 for the sharpies I used and $4 for the other pens that didn’t work). This is a job that anyone can do successfully with just a little bit of time. I was nervous about doing such a permanent modification but now that it’s all said and done I’m so happy I did it!

Haha I knew someone would notice! They made the car feel way less cheap if you get what I mean
