Exhaust for single turbo

My single turbo kit is almost done and I'm wanting to know what you guys are running for exhaust. I have the option to either have it come out the front bumper or routed with a downpipe out the back.

Didn't want to cut into my bumper so I went with the downpipe. I currently have a Stainless Works retro chamber exhaust.

I wasn't sure if the chambered mufflers were going to be restrictive with the turbo or not. I consider just removing them and replacing with a 3-inch pipe or continue to try to sell the system and have an exhaust made once the turbo install is complete.

I was just kind of curious what everyone is running with a single turbo.

The Retro Chambered catback from Stainless Works is a straight through style muffler. I wouldn't worry about it being a point of restriction. It's 3" as well.

Kinda what I was thinking. Wasn't sure if the baffling or what ever you want to call would matter.

Just me over thinking crap as always lol

Get rid of that stainless works catback. All the turbo guys i know running it either pull it off or cut the mufflers off because it is so restrictive. The piping might 3 inches, but the baffling is barely 2 inches and there are 2 sets of them. 3in straight pipe would be your best bet in my opinion. If you have no sound restrictions then either do cutouts or just dump under the car. I tried dumps under the car on my twin turbos and it sounded terrible and gave me a headache. Went to 3 in no mufflers.

I dont know anything about turbos but I just wanted to add that I’ve actually cut in to the muffler of the chambered catback and there’s basically another piece of piping inside of it which is smaller, probably about 2.5 and then it has those wierd looking things inside.

I just did a quick look on the way out of the garage. I'll get a good look once I get home from work.

if you've got calipers measure what the inner diameter of the mufflers are. if its at least 2.5" or larger i think you will be fine mating it to a single turbo

edit: checked out the picture a little more and i would say the internal diameter of the muffler in the picture is 2.5"+. the baffles/dimples cause you to focus on the very end of the muffler which threw me off

3" all the way from the turbo to the tip would be better but i doubt the mufflers will kill much whp

the most important part of the exhaust system on a turbo car is the down pipe

also how much power do you want to make big difference on exhaust flow for 900 compared to 600

I'm going to be around 700. No plans for anymore until I finish the new short block.
