Diablo Custom Tune What you need to do to get one

When you Purchase a Predator or Trinity From Me you get a Tune for free for your mods, exclusions apply.

You will need to install one of the tunes that came with the Trinity or Predator if you have not done so.

Using this software http://diablosport.com/CMR/software/...er_2.2.1.7.exe

Then, Extract the Last Tune Written, and the Original back up, save them to your desktop so they are easy to find.

I have created Dyno and Track tested tunes for all of the Product we sell so in most cases you will NOT need to datalog Unless I instruct you to do so.

If I instruct you to datalog and send me the logs here is what you do.

Using your Trinity or Predator, You will need to set up your datalogging, I want you to select the following

RPM, ENGINE SPEED
ECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMP
TPS THROTTLE POSITION , SOMETIMES TPS ABSOLUTE
IAT INTAKE AIR TEMP
MAF MASS AIR FLOW GRAMS PER SECOND
TIMING SPARK ADVANCE
Knock Retard
Short term fuel trim bank 1
Short term fuel trim bank 2
Long term fuel trim bank 1
Long term fuel trim bank 2

Go find a open road somewhere, 1/2 mile or so long would be great, from a stop drive the car 1/4 throttle up through the gears normally shifting at about 4500 RPM.

Then repeat at about 1/2 throttle to 5500 RPM

Then Repeat at Full Throttle 6000 RPM, a 1/4 mile is sufficient.

This can be done all in one log in most cases.

Using this software http://www.diablosport.com/CMR/softw...er_3.2.0.7.exe

Extract and save the Datalog to your desktop.

Email me the 3 files along with a list of Mods, your name and address, Car you have, and a phone number where you can be reached easily.

Ted.

Ted, I installed the trinity I purchased from you on my 2010 camaro (CD in box was blank so I downloaded all updates from diablosport website). tried the performance tune, it caused several trouble codes including stabilitrac, cruise control, abs, brakes, and three unknown codes any help or ideas would be appreciated. I put it back to original tune first time same codes, did it again and while origonal tune is on car no trouble codes

Did you try clearing these codes to see if they went away?

Maybe disconnect the battery?

Hey Ted,
How does your custom tune compare to using DSLogRedux to modify parameters and 'dial in' to the correct parameters?
I've tried using DSLogRedux, but ultimately have gone back to the canned Diablo tune because the car seemed to be running a little too rich for everyday driving. However, with the canned tune it seems to be a little on the lean side. For daily driving I prefer running a little lean to save on gas. The canned tune seems to hold the AFR to 14.75 except at WOT. At WOT the AFR goes to about 12.9ish.

14.75 is Stoich, or Closed Loop, it should easily run there everywhere but WOT where 12.8 is best.

I would need to see your datalogs to see if there is any room for improvment.

Ted.

I'd be interested to see those data logs you used, and to know the weather conditions in which you did them... i.e. were they done in similar conditions/temps, was one done on a 20* day, and another one done on a 50* day, did you do the logging correctly, etc etc...

first issue we've hear of where someone said their vehicle was running rich after making the correct adjustments...

you can email me the log files to look at if you would like...

thanks!

Just installed the Predator 91 octane tune tonight. First, let me say, it was harder pulling the fuses than it was putting in the tune. Second, it couldn't have been easier to install the tune. Now, I have to find the time to do the data logging, so I can get a custom tune.

Can you do this with a Predator? Or is it only possible with the Trinity?

For Wideband O2 readings at WOT, is there a way to get this data into your datalogs using a Predator? Or is this only possible using a Wideband O2 Sensor plugged into the Trininty?

Help - I lost 40hp

Hey Ted, I desperatly need your help. We purchased an LS3 for my wife and we Love this car, we had no plans of doing any mods but things happen. Thanks again for doing the Cold Air Intake test, that was all I needed to sell the wife on the CAI intake. We also ended up getting a Borla axle back, but the car is basically stock. Yesterday we dyno'd 5 stock Camaro's, 3 of the cars had from 373 to 384 rwhp, which is what I have seen on several other stock Camaro's. 2 of the car's got 343, ours was one of those and even worst was the second pull, 335. I am freaking out and I am worried something might be wrong. So the big question is which one of the Diablo programmers will best help me diagnose the problem. I also have several questions about this, will a tune help if I plan to keep the car basically stock? Could the Low Octane fuel table cause me to lose 40hp? Does the "fuse pull" do anything for an LS3, or do you have to disconnect the battery, and for how long? I have attached our dyno sheet, one of the ugliest I have ever seen. I would greatly appreicate any input or words of wisdom and, Thank You for all that you have done for the Camaro Community! Have A Great Day!

Looking at the dyno graph I can easily see where the Knock sensors Pull Timing due to Knock, Bottom line you have Bad fuel.

Just because you bought 93 Octane does not mean you received 93 Octane.

With our current economy a lot of people are not buying super unleaded and are stepping down, so, Super Unleaded sits in the tanks for months and goes bad.

Ask your local station how much super they sell and find one that sells the most to assure a fresh tank of Super every time.

A Predator, a Trinity or an SCT X3 Can datalog all your sensors and you would be able to see where your timing is running and how much knock is detected.

Give me a call I will set you up.

Ted.
