SS Grille Emblem Removal ?

How do you remove the red ss emblem from the grille? I have removed the bowtie and made a new holder for the trailblazer ss emblems and don't want the red ss emblem on in the grille with the new one installed.

I am curious about this as well. I was going to look into it when I went home for the holidays.

Just found this digging around some other threads. Thanks to Mr Smith:

The rear SS badge is glued and comes off the same as the side badges. The front SS is clipped into the grill. You have to get one hand in behind it and get to the hanger to push the clips and the other hand in the front to pull the emblem out.

There is a little plastic tab that is a part of the front grill so whatever you do don't just pull on the SS emblem because you will break it. The SS emblem is held on with double sided tape. Get you some fishing line and run it behind the emblem carefully and it will come right off. Then just clean the little tab up and you are good to go.

It's actually pretty hard, and a pain to get back into place. There's tabs on the back (hard to get to and hard to remove) you can use a flat head screw driver on the right side and push it in with your finger from the left, I'd suggest doing the left first.

2SSRS,
After looking at SLP performance- There are two Part numbers for the filler One is 100032A, the other is 100033A the PN 100042A that you provided is the old school SS emblem. Do you know what one of the fillers you used?

Thanks,
Mike

I got the call Thursday 7/16/09 that my car was in. I've been after them to sit down with me and redo my receipt which states MSRP at time of delivery with actual numbers so I could get my loan check from the CU. They told me that they did not have the invoice, but to come in on Friday to pick up the car. They have a relationship, through Groove Car with my credit union. They said all the paperwork for my pre-approved loan would be waiting for me to sign and I would drive off upon completion of same.

No problem, a piece of cake. Make sure you pop out the part that holds it on. It could fall off and get lost.

Another question on the old Camaros, did they have the bowtie or SS on the rear as well?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but how does the bracket that holds the SS badge come out of the grill? I was able to remove the SS badge pretty easily with a flat-head screwdriver and now the bracket that held it is very loose and feels like it could fall off, but I can't actually get it out of there. Thanks!

It has clips on the back holding it in. You can use the flathead to pop them out.

That worked, thx stieger. It actually came off pretty easy after wedging the flathead on the right side.
