front license plate holder

I went ahead and ordered this today.
Not too excited about drilling holes in my front bumber.
Anyone else order this, or a similar product....

Texas requires front license plates.

I'll post a link to a subscribed thread here in a sec, but I've been looking into adding some 3M products with zip-ties and it doing the job. There are quite a few threads for doing this on the cheap!

I just told the dealer to leave it off the car. No holes.

Wow, ninety bucks for a bent piece of steel and some double-stick tape? Am I missing something?

I've looked at all of the various brackets and mounting options and ended up ordering one on eBay that bolts below the front bumper using the existing bolts.

ruins the look of the car in my opinion.

Well, how about some double sided foam pads designed to attach license plates, and just bend your license plate in the center to follow the crease of the front bumper.

That's how I have mounted my Euro plate on my Jeep. I used 'signal' brand 6mm double sided fixers to attach the plate. However, I bought the foam pad fixers in the UK when I picked up my Euro plate.

I would have thought it would be easy enough to find something similar in the USA, 3M makes that sort of thing here.

That's how I mounted my plated in the UK when I lived there too. No drilling of the plates, no drilling of the bumper for a clean install.

both of these are made and sold by the same seller......even though I have a LT, I bought the one in JohnInSoCal's post quite some time ago. I don't know what Blue Angel's comment about a bracket and double sided tape is all about, as it doesn't use any, and it mounts through the lower grill with a bracket on the back side. Being the modder I am, it was very easy to slightly modify the bracket and it works like a champ.

I live in Waco and haven't had front plates in years. From my experience, the cops typically won't pull you over just for lacking front plates, and if you're polite, they'll rarely write you a ticket. It's one of those offenses that isn't really enforced unless the cop is having a really bad day or you're being a dick to the cop.

I've seen people who have attatched to the windshield with suction cups, I think this is what I will be doing if I get another warning for it. I've been pulled over one specifically for it in my last camaro, and recently the cop attached a warning for it on my 4 mph over speeding ticket he kindly gave me.
