Need Help Identifying Part Name - Non Camaro - Marine

Good Evening Fellow Camaro Owners,

I need some help identifying a part on my boat (connection - twin 6.2l Mercruiser I/O's - marinized GM blocks) - I would think that this is a relatively easy part to acquire if I could identify what it is...it looks like some type of quick connect/push fitting.

Whats it for???
This part connects a small tube (approx. 1/8" dia) from a lower water unit to a part of the heat exchanger and then on to the Thermostat housing (I believe). I am not really sure what it does, but I would like to reconnect it properly.

Could one of you helpful people tell me what this type of fitting is called so that I can look for it? Any help you can provide would be awesome.

The green tube came out of the broken fitting that I can not identify (white in this pic) on my port engine.

The green tube is attached in the white fitting - this is my starboard engine - and what it should look like.

Both the Green and White tubes come up to the top of the heat exchanger (from below on the right side of the pic - connect to this block and then route to the thermostat on the left).

Pneumatic Air Push In Connect Adapter

you need the hose size and the thread size on the other end

Look up SMC Pneumatic Air Push In Connect Adapter they are quality.

Like this... https://www.mscdirect.com/browse/tnp...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

But you need to know what you need on each end

You helped someone else here, but I want to personally thank you for sticking around, Fran. And please keep firing those wisecracks, too

What Fran said. the tube side is specified for O.D. The thread is likely NPT. Looks like maybe 1/4 or 3/8. Hard to tell from pic. Just bought some from msd direct for work today.

Thanks!

Fran & Zed Sled,

Thanks for the assist. I was able to look through the Merc Manual I got with the boat when I got home tonight - this is part of the "Air Actuated Single Point Drain System" for my engines for winterization. This was not on my old boat.

The OD for the tube looks to be about 1/8". I am heading down there Tuesday morning for something else - and will try to remove this fitting so I can find a suitable replacement part.

I thought it might have something to do with the Heat Exchanger but it does not. I ran into a slew of problems when I took my parents out a few weeks ago - first trip on this boat for them - I docked over a piling I could not see at high tide and that started a bunch of problems I am slowly disposing of. Bent the slide for the ladder so it would not come out, created a prop shaft seal leak, both engines ran hot and required me to replace the IAC valve for both engines...yada yada .

It is a boat that ran flawlessly for us all of last year (80+ hours) and continued this year (~15 hours) until we docked at this restaurant. While I have these problems - taking my parents out for the day after not seeing them for close to 2 years and seeing them happy is worth the headaches I am working through. I will eventually get these issues sorted as we progress through the boating season.

Thanks to the Camaro Community for helping me identify this part so I can replace it.
