Whats Your Lifter Preference?
I know this has been talked about on a million other posts but I'm curious to know what everyones personal preference is for lifters. If you had to get a new set of lifters today what would you personally choose? I like the Chevrolet Performance lifters myself

I guess it depends on your combo.
A good GM/Delphi LS3/LS7 works well for most street applications where it will peak at 6500-6700RPM Lots got with the GM Performance racing lifters if they like to rev 7000+ or hard abuse. Morel and Johnson has some nice lifters too. On my car, I run the Johnson short travel/slow leak down race style lifter. Very happy with them, think it's the quietest lifter that I've used so far.

I am running the Delphi LS7's in my engine, thinking about changing to the Johnson LSR 2116's because my setup makes power above 6800 all the way to 7500.. When I'm on it I normally am between 6800 and 7200. Granted I don't go there all the time, but I can and want to make sure my lifters can handle it. Been ok so far.

I've used ls3/7 lifter in many builds, Delphi or GM. These cars see severe duty and high rpms. I have had zero issues. I have also used Johnsons and GM race lifters with the same result. Prep, proper install, and proper oiling keeps lifters alive.

The GM Performance lifters have been good to me. 7800rpm on the dyno, 7600rpm redline and have had nothing but good results

Under 7000rpm genuine LS7 lifters are fine with new trays. Over 7000rpm go with a race lifter. I went Johnson.

I just replaced my gm performance lifters because I had a pretty loud lifter tap after 7k miles with the GPI SS1 camshaft. I switched them out for the gm performance racing lifters with good results. The performance ones are rated to 7000 rpm and the racing version are good to 8000 rpm and their lighter for better valve control. I've actually revved my engine to 6800 rpm, pretty close to their limit so I just did it mainly for piece of mind. The racing ones also use the same preload as the performance / ls3 lifters too. If you don't mind measuring lifter preload then I would go with the johnson's.

Chevrolet Performance lifters here with current set up and would use them again. Used the GM LS7 lifters in my previous build with no issues.

Curious what you think about link bars. Worth being able to go with lifter trays and gain that extra peace of mind or is that just introducing another possible failure point?

I run the 2116 link bars. Link bars are more reliable imo.

I did. 7.700 and 7.675 I think.
A couple were a smidge off from where they are supposed to be but so far so good.
