Tell me about the clutch pedal spring, Are they worth Modding?
Hi, I keep hearing about the clutch pedal springs being removed or another added and other ideas, Can you tell me a bit about it and should I do anything? I am not a fan of the current ( OEM ) Clutch feel.
Here is one option. https://www.lingenfelter.com/product...l#.YsA42oTMJEY

I just got rid of the helper spring on the clutch pedal over 4 years ago...made a major improvement IMHO.

So does removing the helper spring make depressing the clutch ezer and smoother all the way down?

I believe I used a pair of needle nose pliers to pop it out...pretty straight forward once you stick yer head down there..
And for clarification I also have a Monster twin disk, tore up the stock unit drag racin...

Yup. Much smoother and much better quick shifting…no more bouncing because the spring changes the amount of pressure you have to use between fully pressed and extended. I’m no enjinear but I’m a firm believer it’s only there to prevent morons who ride the pedal from damaging the clutch. That’s why it’s only applying pressure to the top 30 degrees of arc. It’s a actually enjeenius. There’s no telling how much money on clutch recalls/warranty work it saved.

Mine was removed a while ago. Much better feel - smooth and linear.

Some people get a sticking clutch pedal where it won’t come off the floor. That return spring is just a bandaid to actual issue. I’ve never had the occurrence with my 5th Gen after having separated the reservoir, added insulated clutch line, and high temp DOT4 fluid.

I did remote Reservoir and Dot 4, I was just wondering if the spring made the Clutch pedal feel any better, Sometimes I feel like I don't know how to drive when I stall for no reason. I think I may remove the Helper spring GM Put on.

It’s easy enough to reinstall if you don’t like how it feels without

That what I am not sure of if I should add the Aftermarket spring. I think I may.
