Why Does SLP Supercharger or Procharger Void My 100,000 mile Warranty?

I am Interested in Getting a SLP SuperCharger TVS 2300, But I have been informed by my local dealer that it will void my factory warranty.. I really do not understand, since Chevy Sales their SLP ZL575 Etc cars on the Chevy Dealers showrooms and they come with a factory warranty 100,000 mile warranty..What gives?

Te dealer states thats even if I send my car to have SLP install it..

Should I just go with a Procharger? or a Supercharger? What unit do you guys recommend? and what is the best price? Thanks Guys

If the system is not covered by SLP the factory warranty on the engine will be voided. ANY supercharger will have that effect.

You need to pay to play, taking the supercharger off in the unlikely event of a failure is the equivalent of stealing.

When you say void the warranty, do you or the rep from the dealer mean everything? If so, that should not be the case. It will probably void your drivetrain warranty if something breaks that can be attributed to the added HP, but otherwise you shouldn't have any issues. Find a new dealer. Dealers vary in the handling of warranty issues and their tolerances for aftermarket upgrades. The dealer I go to loves to see upgrades I do. If I blow my motor up then of course they won't cover it. If a seal on the tranny or something electrical breaks then they will warranty it. Seriously, try another dealer. My GMC diesel makes 500whp and over 1000ft lbs of torque and they just covered an injector replacement at almost 100k miles under warranty.

Get what you want because technically any of the superchargers have the potential of voiding your warranty.

Find a new dealer. One that is upgrade friendly.

The aftermarket part has to be directly responsible for the failure to not be covered. A supercharger will not completely void the warrenty, you destroy a piston then your on the hook, a suspension piece fails then GM covers it. The SLP installation to the Camaro is being taken over by SLP for warrenty of the driveline but you modify what SLP did and your on the hook again.

Someone said that there was a supercharger kit that GM sells that won't void the warranty if the dealership installs it? Anyone remember that much?
