77880 gets Sequential Taillights and 3rd brake pulser
Installed the kits from WebElectric Products. Taillights are easy, had them in in about 10 mins. I applied dielectric grease in the sockets to prevent corrosion from setting in. The 3rd brake pulser was more of a challenge. Looking at the back seat and how it folds down and access to the trunk I knew there had to be an easier way to install this other than to rip out the rear seats and those panels. AAC claimed there is a way to get to the 3rd brake light wiring from the trunk, but I didn't see how. So, I was able to install the pulser with out removing the rear seat or completely removing the side panel. I folded both front seats down. I had the passenger seat all the way forward. Fold the back seat down and pull about 1/2 the right rear interior panel out to expose the wiring harness running to the trunk area under the rear seat belt spool. It is a bit of P.I.T.A. but this is actually do-able in only 20-30 mins! Open the trunk and at the back towards the right you will see where the connector for the 3rd brake light clips to the body. You can squeeze the plastic clips from the trunk side to free the connector. I am pointing to the hole it clips to in the one of the pictures. Once the connector is free you can carefully cut, or unwrap the electrical tape around the harness to get some more working length and disconnect the connector. Leave the harness from the connector to the brake light alone. Take the other end and cut the harness a couple of inches from the connector body. Make sure where ever you cut you still have enough wiring to work with and crimp your butt connectors to. With the connector cut out and in your hand, you can pre-wire half of it with out reaching behind that panel. The black wire is ground and white is power to the light. I would like to thank Bumble Bee and his post ;
http://web.me.com/dolphsantorine/Site_3/Bumble_Bee.html for additional information. It is kinda cramped trying to wire in the pulser with the panel half there. It is worth it for the time you save. With it half unsnapped you can hold it out far enough to get working room. Once the pulser is wired in, reconnect the factory connector and push it back and snap it back into the hole. Test your light before your reassemble and tie everything down. I am happy with the devices. I would have liked the 3rd brake to flash more rapidly, but it still looks good and I think it is safer for those behind me not paying attention! I made a little video of what it looks like. |

Not sure why this product isn't made to be plug n' play. The Corvette has a plug n' play version.

Very nice. My wife was just commenting the other day about sequential lights for the Camaro and how nice it would be if they were offered. Great write up. Thank you very much

Thanks. They were fun to install. My wife is not into cars by any means and she was following me one time and said they looked really cool. They have been in for about 4 months now and no problems.

Yep, WebElectic too. It is a BLP-1 Universal kit.
http://www.webelectricproducts.com/blp/blpdetails.htm For $35 it is pretty cool. I like the delayed repeat feature if you are in stop and go traffic. |

That one seems kinda slow but i guess it goes with the slow sequential turn signals. I have the technostaliga LED taillights that strobe fast for the brake lights with the GM blade spoiler with the third brake light in it. I disconnected the one in the window since it is no longer needed and added a Universal Brake Light Flasher/Strober for the spoiler brake light now it strobes with the taillights I don't have a you tube account or I'd post a video it looks really cool but heres a link to there web site they have video on there showing how it works, it has 36 different modes some for LED lights and some for bulbs it wires in easy and its only 20 bucks.

I have the webelectric sequentials as well. My first set were fine for a while, then one of them failed to work, ever. I emailed them and they shipped out a new one right away. I often get a "Check bulb" message on the DIC and one of the lights fails to work. I either hit the signal again and it corrects itself but have to turn the car off and back on again every now and again. It's kind of a pain.

Thanks for all the Photos of how to access the harness in the rears seat passenger side. That was very helpful.
I got the Universal Brake Light Flasher/Strober - 36 modes Model: unvbrkflsh36 Here is how I connected it up: ![]() It is working fine. I am having some issues on getting the exact mode I want. If anyone has clearer instructions that would be great.
