How's the V8? Help a V6 guy out.

Hey boys, I have a 3.5L Charger. The next car will be a v8 for sure... Dodge, Chevy or Ford.

What is the 6.2L like in stock form?

How is it off idle? How does it behave part-throttle? What's the torque like? I need as much info as possible as I have no concept.....

I have a bike and it's only got 70hp... and when I crack open the throttle it takes off like a rocket and I gotta hang onto the bars. The thing makes insane torque and is geared to move. it is THAT feeling I want out of my cars. Does the 6.2 provide that feeling? I want a stump puller. A torque monster. I wanna get slammed backward, neck-snapped and all.

I drove a 2008 mustang GT and it just felt like a very powerful 4-cylinder. Absolutely no balls below 4000rpm, I hated it.

Test drive will happen but I need to know the opinions of you guys, who presumably have much more experience than me when it comes to 8cyls...

The only way to judge all of these things is to go test drive one and decide for yourself.

Honestly, if you have to wait for a while, I would consider the new mustang also. It wont be as responsive to mods right off the bat but stock for stock it will probably be a little better performance wise then the camaro... I am fixing to get hammered... LoL But the camaro will always look the best and when they decide to upgrade the camaro the mustang will be back there with the challenger again. But yes, it does give you that pushed back in the seat feeling, as long as you get the 6M.

I think he is asking for an opinon from someone that driven the 6.2. Anyways the 6.2 will give you what you want. From a stand-still or on the move, you will get shoved in your seat when you get on it.

that's what i wanna hear

i largely don't give a crap about horsepower. i'm all about low-rpm torque.

If I got it it would be with the manual.

I saw the mustang reviews, looks promising but look at this

less than 250 ft-lbs off idle.

Hahaha if you want torque. I saw a video some where, a BMW made a police car that has over 500torque. 250 somthing horse lol. That thing will get going. Of couse unless you drive a supercharged v8 heck even STS single turbo for v6

i have a v6 camaro... and since i have been on my work project for 2 months now ive been beating on a 3.5L high output charger... theres a hugh difference... i dont mean to knock on your car or anything... but hands down.. driving my camaro is like a totally different car... the response, feel is much much better... cam v6 is way better than 3.5L high output charger imho...

note: my camaro is M6 and charger is auto.

All these opinions are great, but I agree with BigMatt. You gotta just go out and test drive a SS and see for yourself. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Don't worry about it, i know my car and the 3.5 is definitely a slug.

Awfully good cruiser, though

I'm very impressed with the V6 Camaro from every angle except exhaust tone (sounds like a sewing machine).

I have noticed that I tense up a bit when I accelerate to keep me from flying back into my seat. Just idleing around in 1st gear and tapping the accelerator will knock you back a little. Gotta love it
