Blu808 Spec Front Suspension Conversion System

This is the absolute best performance handling modification available for the 5th gen Camaro. Every component in this system has been engineered by Conrad Grunewald to work together to deliver race car specific handling. With an entire season of professional racing into the R&D process you can have confidence that you are getting the absolute best.

Our Blu808 spec system has won every Redline Time Attack series race that it has been entered into, along with setting a new lap record on Streets Of Willow Raceway. This all combined with a full season of the Formula Drift professional series. Our Camaro, using this system and street tires set a lap time 2 seconds faster than a Corvette ZR-1 !

System Benefits:
Saves over 60 LBS of unsprung weight!
Corrects roll centers for lowered cars!
Drops front ride height 1" to improve control arm angle!
Replaces all factory bushings with spherical bearings!
Corrects ackerman angle
Increases steering angle from 31degs to 55 degs!
Improves steering response!

System includes
Blu808 CNC machined billet aluminum uprights x2
Blu808 Cromoly tig welded control arms x2
Blu808 T308 Outer tie rod assembly x2
Blu808 T308 Misalignment spacer x16
Blu808 Hardware package x2
Aurora r99 Spherical bearing x6
Aurora r14 Spherical bearing x2

This is the ultimate in performance for your 5th gen Camaro. The uprights were designed using Auto Cad and Solid Works. They are CNC machined from a single 44 lbs block of aluminum. Machining time is 8 hours per pair resulting in a individual weight of 8 lbs for each upright. Every control arm is Tig welded by a AWS certified welder in a purpose built jig. All Blu808 Items are made in house.

HOLY!

That is just so damn sexy

:headbang:

sorry for the double post... but I have some questions.

Can you guys help me understand the need for spherical bearings?

Are they as noisy as some claim on a DD car.

if so, with all the kick ass geometry changes you've made, can any stock or stock replacement items be used with your uprights to avoid the spherical bearings???

Thanks!

Chris

That stuff looks great guys, nice work. That knuckle is a sexy work of art my friend, nice job on the innovation.

So this is only needed if you plan to go drifting?

blazzin1 12-21-2011 05:12 PM

It is designed for a race car by a race car driver and it looks like Conrad did a damn good job. The increase in how much the wheels turn is dramatic. The OD of the arms has been dramatically reduced. Putting loops on the end large enough to hold factory bushes wouldn't make much sense. It is serious high end purpose built mod.

This is a purpose built suspension system. It is ideal for a race car and there are a few people who daily drive with it.

We have used this system in road racing and drifting and is built for both.

In a drifting application it creates upto 55 degrees of steering angle and quickens the steering response.

In a racing application it reduces unsprung weight, eliminates the squishy bushings, corrects roll centers, and quickens the steering.

There is no noise with this system. It uses high quality Teflon coated heim joints!

The benefit of a heim joint is there is no deflection, or deformation. This creates rock solid precise handling.

The system is on sale this month at a savings of $900 over our regular price.

This system is designed and intended for race cars, and will need to be professionally installed with a proper alignment.

Hey Luke, great work on this stuff. It was awesome to see the Blu808 operation in person. These are some SERIOUS parts for serious Camaros!!! :emoticon17:

Thanks very much for the insight... Obviously I'm peeking over the fence drooling at this kind of hardware. From my very humble perspective, sounds like an all business setup.

:respekt:

Do you have any pics of this setup installed?

Anthony @ LG Motorsports 12-27-2011 04:31 PM

Nice work!

Squintz Palladoris 12-27-2011 05:09 PM

OK I just saw the link to the Vid. plenty of good info/pics in there.

I am assuming a stock style strut is still used and not a cutom made unit?

Looks like a stock style swaybar as well.

What size wheels are on the car in the vid?

Thanks!!!
