2013 Camaro 2SS vert - looking to get a spare tire

I searched this forum and found conflicting information, or perhaps I just didn't understand it.

1) Will a full size fit in my trunk? The partition will fit over it?

2) If I go with the doughnut sized one, is this the right one - http://performancespare.com/index.ph...&product_id=70

Thanks for your help. I've seen all the arguments for and against a spare. Feel free to speak your mind on the matter but mine is pretty much made up. I want to do lots of road trips and I want the peace of mind. I'm a light packer and even with two 4 year olds, I need very little trunk space available.

I'd love to get a spare myself. A doughnut would be fine.. And ideally one that would fit both back Or front. I do realize I need that extension to fit over the calipers ...

A plug kit (never use the aerosol snot, it ruins the tire), a compressor and a towing service.
That's all I have and I'm good with it.
A full sized spare might fit if you remove the trunk floor (the cover over the battery).
I have not tried it so YMMV.

Before you make a decision, please take the time to read this GREAT thread about what many of our fellow C5 members have done to add a spare tire for SS and non-SS coupe and convertibles. It's pure enlightenment. If I had a spare tire...

I did find this website http://performancespare.com/?route=p...facturer_id=13

It looks like that have a kit for us SS people...

Has anyone looked at this???

I've had a flat and it ain't no fun

Keep the DIC on tire pressures.
The best "spare" is a second set of wheels and tires.
If you run over something, watch DIC like a hawk.
If a tire psi starts dropping, find a place with compressed air immediately. If you can't keep it up, park and go get one of your second set.
The snot compressor doesn't work.
Do not drive on a deflated tire you will ruin it.

I have a factory spare in the trunk but it's not full size, I think it's only 19" wheel/tire.

#1 - A full wont fit
#2 - A number of us, including myself, have bought that kit. It's one of the nicer kits out there with everything you need. If you do a search on here for performancespare you will find a number of hits and members who have done it. It is complete with everything you need if it's the one I bought several years ago.

I don't care much for the bottle of goo and compressor treatment. Not to mention those things go bad after a few years and by the time you need to use it and rely on it, it will probably fail you. I am old school and like the full size spare and peace of mind.

I've had a few cars in the past with a similar setup and never liked it. I had an 85 944 Porsche back around 89-90 and never liked that design although many sports cars are equipped that way to save weight, etc.
