Exhaust noise deferment

Hi all. I have the NPP exhaust on my SS with mid pipes that eliminated the resonators. Now the car is louder than I expected and I fear at Laguna Seca I'll get black flagged by exceeding the 92 decibel limit. Any tips on how to quiet the noise without changing the exhaust itself?

I'm particularly concerned with the sound booth on the right between (I think) turns 5 and 6.

Keep your exhaust valves closed. Might need a M2W switch or one of those old headlight relays. Or just some good old fashioned creativity!

A local lotus Elise put on a 90* down pipe adapter on the tip. It seemed to help a little, but our warnings at 98 dB. Disqual at 100. 50' from track straight where cars would open up. Solo2. I've gotten a couple warnings at 98, but never exceeded. Considered swapping mufflers for events? I have an OE SS axel muffler tailpipe I'm going to try swapping with my ARH mufflers. Hoping the OE chambers change the tone and soften it a little bit. LT and FI makes the car sound angry.

Otherwise, press less gas... That's what they told me to do. :sm0:

Todd: i was thinking of that but it has a potential problem of draining the battery if you forget to leave it in a certain mode.

I may try a muffler shop and see if they can fab some inserts with a bend.

Brian I have cut outs that are always powered up and never had an issue. I just used the car today after sitting for a month, fired right up. The Forza has a switch so you can remove the power when the car sits. ADM makes one also.

http://lsa-conversion-store.myshopif...xhaust-control

I would contact either of them on the battery drain, but it is probably only going to affect a car that sits a lot. The switch on the Forza is part of the controller, the ADM you could just add if you wanted.. any how I hope you are well and find the way to avoid the Sound Booth LOL.

Which cutout do you have?

I swapped out the stock H for a resonated X pipe. It removed the higher pitch 'rasp'
I haven't had any issues with exceeding db levels. When I was at C5 fest, another car got flagged, so I assume I'm quiet enough.
Alternatively you could safety wire the valves closed for track days

Geoff, thank you for the tip. Is this what you're talking about:

Did you tuner do recommend a new tune after installing this?

QTP at the rear. It gives me 6 outlets at the rear and is tucked in under the car so you have to look under to see it. Then ADM for the NPP. I can go 2 outlet, NPP stock operation, 6 outlet QTP, ADM always open, 4 outlet QTP open ADM closed., or 6 outlet NPP stock operation. I usually rolled all open, after headers I have some options.

That's the one! No one mentioned that the tune should be tweaked, I just welded it in and ran it. Ended up about $150 all in

Got to say this is galactic. I would have thought this was more binary, meaning either flow via QTP directly into stock mufflers or flow out without the mufflers thus switching the QTP the other way.

Are you saying the QTP allows flow both ways simultaneously and that how you get six outlets?
