Convertible Rear Seat Shelf and Dog Restraint
Thought I'd post up my convertible Rear Seat project for those wanting some covered storage area and doubles as a dog restraint for those wanting to take their small pooches for a drive (yes; I'm one of "those people":der:)
The base is made out of 1/2" plywood and then covered on one side with foam base and color matching vinyl and stitching. There is also a netting that attaches into the mounting holes for the OEM windscreen. http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...psb97ecb29.jpg The netting can also be left down to protect the area under the shelf. Great place to put coat/hats, etc without blowing out. http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps13eb3366.jpg The shelf is held in place by male/female clips that are anchored to the seatbelt mounting points under the rear seat. http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...psfb27bd8f.jpg The reverse side is covered in a carpet material and has hardware for attaching dog leash and adjustable/tighening mounting clips. http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps92738714.jpg All thats left to do is load up the pooch... http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2302e2fb.jpghttp://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps76b542fd.jpg and CRUISE!! http://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5967428f.jpg |
That's awesome and great job! It sure looks like the pooch likes it as well.

Looks like Super Sport is behind the front seat.

Very impressive!
My dog would love to ride in my vert with the top down but there are two issues preventing it. 1. She sheds like crazy most of the year 2. Even though the leash would keep her from jumping out of the car, she'd still scratch the crap out of the inside if I happened to drive by another dog. |
Thats Great!

That looks great at least 2 of my Dachshunds would love that. I have one that does not like to ride with the top down.
